Samsung TV Model LN40A630M1FXZA, Takes forever to start up, clicks off, loud static noises and strange picture when it is trying to start.

1. Replace the defective electrolytic capacitors on the main power supply first.
2. If above repair did not fix the problem,, replace the main board.

I have a Samsung hlr6156wx/xaa 61 inch tv and the TV takes forever to turn on.

There are many capacitors on the power supply board that need to be replaced. You can get a parts kit or a complete replacement board to fix it. Get the parts from:

LG 47" TV takes about an hour to turn on. When you try to turn it on the light flashes green and red.

This means that the bulb is bad, and is taking forever to heat up. You need to get the bulb replaced to fix it.

Tuning in takes ages whilst warms up

IF your TV is not one of the real old ones, you have a problem with the automatic tuning system. Some component in this circuit most likely a capacitor or coil is changing its electrical properties due to temperature which in turn causes the set to be off frequency until it warms up. A capacitor (condenser) can do this quite often. Stargazer
