Z313 no sound

Phone plug on subwoofer plugs into phone jack on back of tower! Plug and jack are color coded green. If you plug into wrong jack you get no sound or intermittent sound. Also speaker cables have an on-off swith so make sure you are switched "on" or you will not get sound.

I don't know how to install my logictech Z523 speakers; they are hooked up but no sound and not installed; computer doesn't recognize them and my fiance threw out the instructions so I don't know how or...

Your "line in" from speakers should be plugged into the green (output) port on the back of your tower or the headphone jack on laptop. You will need to hook the 9 pin connector from the right speaker to the subwoofer. The yellow line from left speaker plugs into port labled "subwoofer" on subwoofer. Plug your power cord from speaker system into an outlet. Turn them on, adjust volume. There is no software for this product.

Where does the Microphone plug in to the Dell Vostro200

Depending on the chassis-style of your Vostro 200 (Slim-line or Tower), you may have one or more options for installing a microphone.
See below for instructions:
A. Slim-Line Model
There are two locations on this model (by default).

Front: You have the power button, then 2 x USB ports, 1 x Headphone jack-out, and 1 x Microphone jack-in.

Rear: There is a block of six audio connectors, looking only at the bottom 3 (red, green & blue).
Red = Microphone jack-in Green = Speaker/Audio jack-out Blue = Audio jack-in

B. Tower Model

Audio cuts in and out in media center or while watching a dvd

Check to ensure that the speaker connection plug is fully inserted into the speaker jack on the computer. Do the same for the power connection at the speaker, too. Slightly wiggle or twist the connections and wires - one at a time to isolate the source of the failure (can be the power plug or wire, audio plug or wire, or even the jack on the PC . If related to the speaker plug, try using the speakers in another speaker jack on the PC - or other device (mp3 player, etc.) if the problem is still present on both locations, it is related to the speakers / power. Try using a pair of headphones plugged directly into the speaker jack on the PC to see if the problem is present still. If the problem is common to both speaker and headphones, the jack on the PC is likely the culprit, and a new sound card will probably have to be installed. Otherwise, replace / repair the speaker cable, plug or system.

The likely source of the problem is a stretched wire along the cord - or at the plug. A repair can be attempted if desired - or replace the speaker system if lacking tools or if unsure how to go about it.

I have made all connections re 'phone line up to connecting to tower - I can't connect as cable too short - what am I doing wrong? Should I be connecting via the back of the tower? I only have one...

You should have a modem installed in the tower portion of the system. It will have phone jacks. One is marked LINE the other is usually Phone. The Line or Wall jack plugs into the phone jack on the wall. if there is a phone plugged already, unplug it and plug it into the modem jack marked phone. Cord lengths are chosen to suit need. Radio Shack or the like have long cords if needed

Pluging in extra usb ports/Mic and headphone jacks from the tower

Answer me this. You're case is an Antec tower? The motherboard is the Asus P4P800 SE ? Is this correct?
If you have you're manual you can see what goes where on the board for front panel connector page. 2-31. (This diagram shows you how to connect the front mic & speaker).
To connect the Antec's front USB ports plug the case USB front connectors onto USB56 & USB78 shown on page. 2-30. Most case wires are already set within their USB connectors & the Antec's front USB connector should fit right on the mother board's pin's. If you need you're user manual, download from Asus by clicking on this link. http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=P4P800%20SE&SLanguage=en-us

Good Luck!
Mike
