I have an ILIVE (model 209b 3.1 home music system) that has an RCA output jack for a subwoofer. My (unpowered) Radioshack subwoofer does not have an RCA input jack. It only has the red and black speaker (spring) wire connections. Is there an adapter for this? Or am I completely wrong.....thx

Thanks again Sparky. OK, here's what did; I had an old Radio Shack (100 watt) PA amplifier (with Rca inputs and speaker outs). I ran an RCA line from the Home Music system single SW output (209b sound bar), into a 'Y' cable...then into the 2 (RCA) inputs on the amp. Then ran speaker wires from the amp into the subwoofer. I'm getting sound out of the subwoofer but not very much. It DOES help the sound a bit but, like I said, not much. When I crank the volume up all the way on the amp, the VU meters barely move. Is this because the amp is a PA amp and not really made for bass...or am I doing something wrong. The sub has (red & black) inputs that say 'from amplifier' (which I ran speaker wires into) and another set of red and black outs that say 'to speakers'...(I vaguely remember that those were used to run to the rest of my (home brewed) music system speakers about 100 years ago).....not used now because of this new setup. I hope this makes sense....I'm confusing myself just reading this back to myself!!! I'm an old geezer now! Thanks again!!

The rca subwoofer jack is not a speaker level output, it is a line level output which is made to work with a POWERED subwoofer

I have iLive IBD704 Bluetooth Movie/Music and it won't power up with batteries. I bought brand new batteries and triple checked the alignment. I still get no power. Works fine with electrical cord.

Question edited for full 'make model (what it is)'.
Question moved from 'Power Up Computers & Internet'.

Check alignment again and if it is correct, the Customer Support number is also on this page.

Can i use the RCA subwoofer output jack?

The subwoofer jack might be switched off. Have a look under the menu of the system to see if it is off.

Where is the aux jack for the RCA RS 2620 bookshelf stereo?

The Aux audio L/R input jacks are below the On/Off button on the left side of the front of the stereo's main unit. The headphone jack is just below the input jacks. You will probably need an adapter to split the stereo output from the Blackberry (probably a 3.5 mm stereo jack) to the L/R jacks.

Radio Shack has the manual for the RCA RS2620 here: http://support.radioshack.com/support_audio/doc72/72312.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I have a wireless speaker system that home base plugs into an external music source, can In somehow connect it to the Bose 3-2-1?

Yes, it can. The Bose rear panel has RCA jacks for right and left channel audio outputs. You'll need a connecting cable with RCA plugs on the Bose end, and whatever kind of input connector your wireless speaker system needs.

Connect Altec Lansing ADA745 to HD TV RCA output for home theater

It won't work like this due to this being a computer only speaker system. It requires the drivers to work with a computer & a Home theater does not recognize the format. Sorry.

How to connect unpowered subwoofer to receiver with RCA sub out?

In order for this to work, you will need an external amplifier. Your receiver is set up to use a "powered" sub. With only speaker connections on the sub, it is a "passive" sub requiring a separate amp.

Subwoofer.......

Please check your model number, I can not find it on the JVC service website.

This is a powered sub-woofer I think. You need to have a thick black cord that connects the sub to the head unit. Then the satellite speakers get connected to the speaker jacks on the sub-woofer box. The sub-woofer should also be plugged into an A/C outlet on the wall.

The speaker outputs are labeled right there where you connect the speaker wires. You should see a red and black connector for each speaker and they are labeled "front right" "front left" "center" "rear right" "rear left".

If you do not have the thick black cord you need to connect the head unit with the sub-woofer, you can not use this system.

If you look at the head unit and give me the model number on it, I may be able to find the part you need. But I must have a good model number to work with, preferably from the head unit.
