My camcorder is actually a samsung smx-f30 sp, due to not seeing the model i decide to highlight the problem here. i bought from littlewoods in january and then in september the lcd screen started going blank everytime i turned it on. the problem is still on and i am not sure what to do. i went on the samsung website and reported the issue a couple of times but received no response. i do love my camcorder it is just the lcd screen that is messing up. yesterday i was browsing on websites that sell detachable camera screens, thinking to buy so i can continue using my gagdet. it will be very kind of you if you assist me with solving this frustrating problem thank you terry, south west, england

No its not with the samsung alone. Both of your cameras suffer from defective CCD. I think if the cameras were manufactured between 2002-04 then they must be having manufacturing defect. Contact your local Samsung and ask about the world wide problem of defective CCD that were replaced by almost all the camera manufacturers FREE of cost.

hi ..had the same problem..had advice from this site two weeks ago..which was spot on..the lcd screen ribon has brocken.. its available from partmaster..www.partmaster.co.uk...part required..no SAMAD9706489A..£11.49.. took me half hour to take camera apart (carefull.y) 10 min to put back togerther.. works brilliantly.. good luck.. the connector between the LCD and internal parts of the camcorder is called RIBBON. based on what you said, you need to call Samsung hotline for repair of your camcorder

This sounds like the camera needs a cleaning and you can buy camera cleaning items from any good camera store.
