This happens because it's simply getting too much water out too fast, it shouldn't Dump until it's at least 80% full, it's a protection mechanism to stop it overflowing.. the only thing I can suggest is to run a hose out from the back to take away the water extracted from the air.. or empty the reserve out earlier... There is indeed a sensor that controls all this so also it may be faulty..or if adjustable may need adjustment.

This is a HUMIDIFIER not a dehumidifier
The HUMIDIFIER is dumping it's reserve water tank when the water level gets to about 50%. This is a humidifier and I am trying to put water into the air. Having water all over the floor certainly does help bring the humidity level up but the carpet really hates it!
