Cord my fridge in my trailer has a plug in cord coming out the side of the trailer is this for the elitric part of the fridge

It sounds as though you have either a frayed wire between the brake control circuit and tail/running light circuit of the truck side of the plug, or someone wired the truck side of the plug incorrectly.

Think about it. The parking brake lights come on when the controller is activated. More than likely the tail lights are also.

The tail lights are also going to come on when the headlights are on. This would cause the trailer brakes to be activated IF there is a short in the TRUCK side of the plug itself.

That's where I would personally start investigating, The truck side of the trailer plug.

Many trailer sockets have a live wire to operate the electric fridge in the trailer. It is possible that you have a short from this live point to the light that is on, or else a faulty connection. Get a wiring diagram from the net - search for "trailer plug pinout" or something like that, you will get a very extensive list of standard wiring diagrams for the trailer plug.

In order for your fridge to work when your trailer is not pluged in you need a 12 volt power source, You might have a bad battery or your positive or negative cables are not connected properly. Or a bad connection in the back of the fridge. Check the fuse?

changed the entire cord

When the trailer came off and pulled the light cord it stretched or broke wires inside the trailer harness. Start tracing back from the plug, paying careful attention to sharp bends and hold down points as well as connections. Remember that wire could pull apart inside the insulation without breaking it. It might be just as easy to replace the tailer harness. Hope this helps.

its in the engine compartment in the fuse box on the drivers side next to battery

This is a trailer question, but I will try.. Connection is broken between pin and connector so no power will pass....Buy a new plug. Sorry.

You need to make sure that you follow the manufacturer's recommendations for using the unit with each specific power source. It's important that you have the all switches in the proper position, based on what power source you're using.

may be ur wires are short circuited so call ur dealer

try checking all the snap in connectors on the back side of the plug,
some times they get loose and/or corded.
if those are good you may have to run a wire trace. i'm not sure how much that would be, i charge 50.00 normally depending on the vehicle.
