Regular answer for this problem is to update BIOS / Touchpad drivers. Since you have already disabled the internal touch pad, can you also check if you have a track-stick that needs to be disabled. That should fix your problem!

Hi Femi,

5 beeps on a Vostro generally means that the internal CMOS battery (the one responsible for your laptop keeping its time etc) has failed and needs to be replaced. You're best taking the laptop to a local computer shop to get the CMOS battery swapped out.

Dell Vostro 1015 having an Internal Webcam. Driver should be with the Chipset CD. If you have the Cd which comes with Laptop search in that. If not then Please visit the Dell official website to download the latest driver for your OS.

Sir,i m using dell vostro 1510 laptop(2gb ram,250gb hard disk, core2duo).i have "INTERNAL WEBCAM".my webcam is working properly when i open it in "my computer" in "XP" but when i install dell webcam...

Sometimes the driver that comes with windows is better than the one from the manufacturer's cd. I would try both and whichever one functions better is the one to use.Good luck to you.

Dell Vostro 1000 won't turn on/no power at all

The power connector within the laptop maybe broken. Not sure about Dell's but many laptops have only solder points holding the internal power connector to the motherboard. With too much agitation, the internal power connector becomes loose and then broken.

More info will help, does a light show on the laptop when it is plugged in? Have you tried removing the battery and lettting the laptop sit for about 10 mins, without any power? Have you re-seated the ram?

These are all possibilities of the symptom you have.
