Hi! My MK5 power chair has started to quit working in the middle of a ramp. All of the lights blink quickly 6 times and then pauses and then starts again. Any ideas what that may be? Thanks! Barb

Barb If you have an Invacare chair then the 6 flashes indicate a right park brake fault. Unfortunately you cannot just order a brake for your chair. If Medicare paid for your chair then you can call Repair Xpress @ 1-877-581-3733 or Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 to have them repair your chair and bill Medicare for most of the repair cost. Hope this helps

When i plug the cable into the joystick control (MK5SOJ+) all the lights around the horn button blink on and off motor wont engage and it won't shut off til pull out the cable do i need a

Hello,

When you say the power cable I hope you mean the cable that comes from the main control module under the chair. I want to make sure you are not talking about the AC power cable that plugs from the chair to a wall outlet. So if we are on the same page about the cable is the one going from the joystick to the main control module under the chair and all you do is plug it in and the green speed lights start to blink this would indicate the joystick is bad.

My aspire powerchair quit and the first 3 battery lights started blinking, what does this mean?

There are thermal fuse under the chair where the batteries are . This is to protect the motors from overheating and ruining them . The fuses are availible on ebay or any medical supply store that deals with wheel chair . I replaced the ones on my mother - in laws Chair and anyone who has a little mechanical ability can change them . They were $10 Each when I replaced hers last December . It is alot cheaper than the motors . That is why they are made that way . Good Luck !!!!!!!!!
Hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What does a yellow wrench indicator light mean on a Pronto M41 w/Sure Step?

The yellow wrench is a diagnostic tool. How many times does it blink between pauses. Example might be 3 blinks then pause then 3 blinks then pause, over and over. Hoe many does your chair blink?

My car wont stay idling

Lets start with figuring out why the check engine light is on. You can get a blinkout of the the code by switching you key to the on and off position three times quickly and leaving it in the on position on the final time (note, do not take the key so far that it tries to start the engine). So start with the key in, and engine off, quickly turn the key to on, then off, then on, then off, then on and leave it there. Now watch your check engine light. It will blink out any codes that may be stored. The blinking will have breaks between each code and each code is a two digit number. For instance, blink short pause, blink blink, long pause, blink, blink, blink, pause, blink, blink, would be codes 12 and 32. I believe the final code is 55 and just simply means "end of codes". That should at least tell you if its an issue the ECU has detected. You can do a quick google search to find out what each code it spits out means. As for a guess as to why it isn't idling...I've seen everything from a failing fuel pump (inadequate pressure), to a clogged EGR valve cause this. Could be quite a few things unfortunately. Good luck!

When turning on joystick control the chair moves but when i stop the lights start to blink and stops moving horn works if i play with the on/off it start to works agian

fantasy when it stops count the number of flashes. For example it might flash 5 times pause flash 5 times pause etc. This is the flash code and your manual will give you what it means. Being an intermittent problem can be a bear to trouble shoot. It would be nice to know what chair you have and whether Medicare purchased the chair for you. If Medicare purchased the chair then they will pay for most of the repair cost Hope this helps you

I have a invacare The joystick mk5 will not lite up batt. are new

Some chairs, like the M91 are a real bear to replace the batteries and connectors can get knocked loose in the process. First, using a voltmeter you need to see if the controller is getting power. On the DC setting, use voltmeter at the three-pin female connection at the joystick that is the charging port. The two pins that are opposite each other are the "hot" pins, and your meter should read about 25 volts, +- 2 volts. If its 0, there is a connection that isn't made from the batteries through to the controller, or the controller or joystick is shot. If you do have power to the joystick, then it's probable that the joystick is shot. A new one from Invacare is pricey, around $1,000.00 I have found a new site that can repair most makes. I have not used them, so cannot vouch for their work, but give them a call and see what you think.

If you don't have power, start at the terminals from the battery, and follow each wire back to the power control box, unplug and replug firmly as you work your way back. Check all fuses on the way. Then check all of the other connectors inside the chair, unplug, and reconnect again. Unplug and reconnect the wires leading into the power control box, and then restart chair. If no lights still, then the power control module is probably the culprit, but the address above fixes those too. The joystick and the power control module work together to make the chair operate safely. Good luck
