You can use the emergency eject hole found on the drive itself. If you look closely in front of the drive, there is a small hole. Poke the hole with a pin or a paper clip to open the drive. If the drive is not found in my computer, it may be a hardware or a software issue. If it is a software issue, all you need is to reset the upper and the lower filters in the registry. You can use the guide HERE. If this doesnt work, it may be a hardware problem. You can check your computer bios and see if the optical drive option is enabled. YOu may also want to reseat (remove the drive and put it back in) the drive. Manufacturers have manuals found in their websites.

Can't push button to open CD/DVD player - won't open. Help?

What to do if you get a CD or DVD stuck in your computers optical drive, and it won't eject. You can take several steps to troubleshoot stuck DVDs or CDs.

Computers are what they are, complex. Meaning, a stuck DVD could be one of several possible things. Sometimes it may be easy to fix. Sometimes, not so easy. The best thing to do is troubleshoot the problem.
Here is what you should not do:
- Stick a screwdriver, pocket knife, credit card, or any other object into the DVD drive and try to pry it open or pull the disc out. When stuff doesn't work right, I feel like tossing my computer across the room just as much as the next guy. But just don't do it. Troubleshoot first.

Method 1 - Try Ejecting from Within Windows Navigate on over to Start > Computer. Right-click on your CD/DVD drive choose eject from the drop down menu. Sometimes you can eject the stuck disc using Windows commands.

Method 2 - Software and Drivers The CD/DVD drive was working a week ago right? But all of a sudden it just stops. Chances are good, that you may have installed a program, application, update, driver, etc., that messed with the CD/DVD drive driver.
To troubleshoot this, try doing a system restore. A system restore will uninstall several files and changes to your computer that were made within a certain time frame. If you have just recently upgraded your operating system, this often times cause some device drivers incompatibilities.
Another thing that you can try, is uninstalling the driver for your CD/DVD drive, and reinstalling it. To do this, you will need to make sure that you have a backup of your driver. You should be able to download it from your CD/DVD drive manufacturer's website.

How to eject a stuck dvd in a desk top computer?

by "My computer doesnt show that the dvd is in the computer" are you referring to the disk or the drive? If the drive is not showing in my computer try using this file: - (recommended fix)
And here's a method (CdGone.zip) that will do a procedure automatically for you if you're afraid to edit the registry manually.
(automatic fix, post #7, download file: CdGone.zip)
Unzip the file, then launch it.

Cd drive wont eject

Try ejecting it through "My Computer". Right click on the drive and select "eject". If you can't locate the drive, then it's probably missing the driver.

Dell xps desktop slot load optical disk drive stuck. Wont eject disk and no pin hole to stick a paperclip in.

It's probably a driver issue, I know this because I reinstalled WIN7 Pro, because of some experimenting and it was after the reinstall that media wouldn't eject using the touch-bar ejecter, although I was able to get everything else working flawlessly. No problem though, just open My Computer, right click on the CD/DVD Drive and click eject from the pulldown menu. Currently I'm looking for the driver fix, but haven't found it YET~! P.S. Anyone who thinks or says it's the BIOS is crazy... don't listen to them. It's more than likely a chipset driver because it's hardware, but don't rule proprietary software. Hope this helps~!

No sound/audio , dvd rom driv stuck.

1. Downloading the latest drivers pretty much is always the first advice that will be given for computer problems. If device manage is reporting device drivers are not installed then there is your answer. I did have a quick search and can't find your particular computer.

2. Have you tried going into 'My Computer' right clicking the drive and selecting eject? Does the drive work at all, is there a disk in there?
