The reason why the water lines are shaking is because the new sink is letting more volume through than the old one. When you have more volume and then stops when you turn the water off it is going to cause a **** in the line. A way that you can fix this problem is turn the inlet valve down. So it slows the water volume down. Another thing that can cause the lines to shake is the copper water line was not reamed.

Yes that is correct. The sprayer does not allow as much volume through.

I have a Price Pfister faucet model F-534-70CC. It won't swivel,what do I do????

If this was a new install, back off the retaining nut a half turn. Most people have a habit of overtightening.

If it has been installed for quite some time, check to make sure that the sprayer hose is not wrapped around something or wegged somehow (under the sink).

My dishwasher didn't drain the water out on the end of the clicle? What could be the problem?

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today.I would start where your drain line connects to the house drain,This is where most blocked drains happen. Disconnect the drain line and put it in a bucket and try to drain the dishwasher. Chances are its blocked somewhere you just have to find it.

I'm trying to change the kitchen faucet and the shut off valves under the sink will not turn, I've tried to spray them with WD40 but they still won't turn. I live in a Condo so I cannot shut...

If you can't work the shutoffs on the water lines under the sink, your only choice is to contact your condo maintenance people. They need to have some way to shut the water off to your unit when they make repairs. They can tell you if there are some more valves in another area that you can access, or they may have a maintenance closet somewhere and can turn the water off for you so you can make the repair.

Sometimes you can turn a sticky valve by using a large set of channel-lock pliers or similar type on the knob so you can get leverage. They look like this if you're not familiar with the type:

pgh_pa_guy_25.jpg

If it's been a while since the valves have been used, they often don't want to move without help. Once free, they may work fine, but sometimes it's a good idea to replace the shutoff valves as part of the new faucet installation. They're not expensive and you'll know they will work if you need to shut them off in the future. Get "ball-valve stops" which make a positive shutoff. Stops that use a rubber washer can sometimes let water trickle through (or more than trickle!) when shut off. Depending on the kind of valves currently installed and the type of pipes supplying your water, you might want the condo maintenance people to do the replacement. But if 1/2-inch copper pipe is what you have and there's a couple of inches between where the pipe comes through the cabinet back or bottom and the current valves, you can just cut them off with a tubing cutter. Then you can replace them with valves that just slide over the pipe and are fastened by tightening down a compression fitting (tightening a nut, in other words).

You should also plan to use new supply lines from the shutoffs to the faucet. Again, they're cheap and the old ones can sometimes leak when you try reconnecting them. Corrosion and mineral build-up from hard water can lead to poor sealing. The current ones may also be clogged with minerals, and new ones will give your new faucet full flow.

Once you've got that problem of turning off the water supply solved, it's usually not too difficult to change the faucet. Make sure you have a basin wrench on hand; on many faucets it's impossible to reach the supply connections with any other kind. The box from the new faucet may tell you if can get away without one.

Good luck with the project, and thanks for using Fixya!

Keurig Coffeemaker says to descale. How do I do that?

Hi, unplug the coffee machine and remove the cup.

Turn the coffee machine upside down over the sink in order to fully drain it of water. Be careful of the plug and avoid getting it wet.

Pour undiluted white vinegar into the reservoir up to the top edge of the viewing window.

Place a ceramic cup under the machine, plug it in and press "Brew" for a large cup. Pour the cups of vinegar into the sink and repeat the process until the reservoir is empty.

Remove the final cup of vinegar and empty it. Fill the coffee maker with clean water and allow it to sit for four hours, remaining on.

Unplug the machine and dump the water into the sink.

Fill up the reservoir with fresh, clean water and plug it in. Place the ceramic cup back on the drip tray and run multiple brews in order to rinse the machine of any remaining vinegar residue.

Never have used a garbage disposal, now after 4 month and using it only about 30 times the water in the sink will not drain. When I turn on the garbage disposal the water in the sink swirls so I know it is...

hello fowl..... you have a blockage in the garbage disposal. you can use a chemical drain cleaner and pour it into the sink where the disposal is located. you should also look into that drain with a flashlight to make sure that there is not a fork or some other object causing the blockage. If you do not choose to use the chemical, you can also disconnect the disposal using the wrench that should be under the sink where the disposal is located. if you choose this method, have a pail handy to catch the water. also unplug the disposal before you work on it. We live in a house built in early 60's. Re; Plumbing to kitchen sink and dishwasher. On vary rare occasion the sink faucet will have decent water pressure. We have changed the water faucet with a Moen. As...

if this is the only place in the home where water pressure is a problem then the lines may very well be the issue. if you have low pressure throughout the home then there may be a problem with the main water supply in the home. if the lines are galvanized pipe then they may be restricted due to rust or other deposits forming on the inside of the pipe. unless you are good at plumbing then i would suggest having a professional come out and assess the condition of the lines.

Hi hope you can help, I have a 2 door fridge with a bottom draw freezer purchased new 2008 and I have lost the instructions. The prolem I need diagnosed is water leaking from the freezer draw. thanks.

Sounds to me like you have a leak, probably from an ice maker tubing connection or vinyl water supply tube itself. Have someone get a good flashlight and get a good closeup look at where the water is coming from. The water supply to the fridge's icemaker comes from the house wall, floor, or cabinet area of sink. Often they are connected to fridge, then someone moves the fridge to clean and the line gets run-over or tugged on too hard causing a leak. If that is cause, install a new line (hardware stores have these specific to ice makers, 1/4" vinyl or copper tubing) and it should be coiled several times in mid air near the wall, so if fridge is moved out it just uncoils not incurrs damage from un-noticed tension (full amount of water pressure in that little line).

2nd possibility for newer type fridge. All frost free fridges have a pan underneath that catches condensation from coils, from the pan the water evaporates into the air where balance is achieved and pan is never full. On rare occasions, like during moving, on some the pan isn't fastened down and can fall out of place, then condensation water from the coils falls to floor (not any great amount but some).

When my dishwasher drains both sides of sink fill with water...then they both eventually drain back into the dishwasher.

Sounds like your sink drain trap or line is clogged. When the dishwasher drains, the sink drain can't keep up, the water backs up, then backs down the dishwasher drain line into the dishwasher. You may not notice the slow line when you run a little water into the sink, but with the amount of water coming from the dishwasher the problem is worse. You can try taking off the trap under the sink and making sure it's clear. If the problem is farther down the drain line, you can try snaking it yourself, or call a plumber. I don't recommend using Liquid Plumr or Drano because if those don't work, they leave the line full of caustic chemicals for the next person who works on it. That can be dangeerous.

My hand sprayer on my sink is leaking every time I turn the water on. It's leaking from the sprayer and in dripping under the sink. How can I fix this?

Check for a leaking O-ring/Washer/Seal and replace. Sometimes the internal parts of the sprayer head will wear out. Replacement sprayer heads can be obtained from your local hardware store.
I'll look forward to hearing back from you. :-)
