I have heard the the back lit display does gradally fail, although it is fixable. You should be able to adjust the light with a knob near the screen; make sure you haven't turned it down by accident.

Testimonial: "I found the dial and after adjusting it the display was good thank you"

Yes!!!!!!! Thank you so much. I didn't have any display and thought the light needed to be replaced. Guess I didn't ever use the little knob before and it was turned by accident. Turned the knob and voila!! Light!! Thank you.

Janome MC 3000 shank height

The Janome Memory Craft 3000 uses a low shank snap-on presser foot with a presser foot holder for most of its standard presser feet. See page 17 (page 19 of the PDF) of the User Manual available from Janome on the retired machine support page: https://www.janome.com/support/retired-machine-manuals/ . The current link to the manual is https://www.janome.com/siteassets/support/manuals/retired/computer/inst-book-mc3000.pdf . For specific presser feet that originally came with the machine, see page 3 of the manual (page 5 of the PDF). You can get presser feet that are known to be compatible at most sewing machine supply vendors, including https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/janome-memory-craft-3000-sewing-machine-parts.aspx?filter.ptype_gmcfeed_1=%20Presser%20Feet&index=39 or https://www.sewingmachinesplus.com/janome-mc3000-parts-accessories.php . A few presser feet have their own shank and require you to take off the holder.

I hope this helps.

Try https://www.sewshop.com/#/Cords___Controls-8-4020.html. They have Janome power cords. The one fits the Memory Craft. Most of the manufacturer's use the same power cord for most of their machines.
