My Weiser powerbolt lock is beeping-changed batteries-won't stop

Why is my Powerbolt 1000 unit beeping?
To determine why your lock is beeping abnormally, please follow these steps:
  1. Take out batteries and unplug powerstrip.
  2. Let it sit for 1 minute, then put the batteries back in and wait another minute.
  3. If it does not beep, the keypad needs to be replaced (17733-1).
  4. If the unit continues to beep, the powerboard needs to be replaced (A17734-3,3 Powerboard 1470 brass finish; A17734-3,26D Powerboard 1470 satin chrome finish; A17734-3,5 Powerboard 1470 antique brass finish).

I'm changing the batteries in there every 2 weeks why is that ? I tried really good ones to cheaper ones and none seem to be working longer then a few weeks.. why is that ?

You may have developed a mechanical bind due to the door sagging between the lock and the strike plate. If there is a noticeable difference between how the lock functions with the door open and closed, this is probably the case--and that will take your batteries down. Or you may have developed a mechanical bind within the lock mechanism itself-which is covered under warranty. For warranty service contact from this link:

Good luck-and please give feedback if this helps!

Powerbolt 1000 uses up batteries in a week

Get in touch with Weiser Canada via the contact info on their web site (http://www.weiserlock.ca/wei-eng/contact.htm) for a replacement under warranty (the Powerbolt has a lifetime mechanical guarantee). i have two rental properties with Powerbolt locks on them and have found - over the past 3 years - that it's safest to just replace the batteries on a 4 month schedule to ensure the tenants don't get locked out! The batteries actually last for longer than ~ 6 months, but i prefer to be on the safe side ...

Cheers,
