you need a special tool that holds them in place its a weird looking thing made out of plastic but it works ,try your local auto factor or snap on man,some vehicles i use a pari of molegrips on teh camshaft ,take the rocker cover off and you will see what i mean ,clamp the cam and then wedge the moles with something to hold it in place ,what a cowboy iam but it works

You need a service and repair manual for that vehicle, about 15 or 20 bucks at any parts store, and some librarys.

It will save you alot of time. Look on ebay for the manual.
