How I configure my outlook 2007 with rediffmail

Hi,

Try the below steps

Set up POP 3 for Outlook Express
Outlook Express allows you to add a new email account to your existing profile. This means you do not have to replace your current settings in order to send and receive Rediffmail messages.

* Choose 'Accounts' > 'Mail' > 'Add' > 'Mail
* In the 'Display Name', type your name and click 'Next'.
* In the Email ID box, type your Rediffmail ID.
* Select "POP3" to answer the question "My incoming mail server is a..."
* In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server box, type "pop.rediffmail.com"
* In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type "smtp.rediffmail.com"
* Click "Next."
* In the Account Name box, type your Rediffmail ID
* In the Password box, type your Rediffmail Password.
* If you want Outlook Express to remember your password, check the "Remember password" box.
* Do not check the boxes labelled "Log on using Secure..."
* Click "Next."
* Click "Finish."

Thanks

When i try to ger outlook express to work it won't

In the Outlook Express folder delete Old.dbx change the file name from Old.bak to Old.dbx
Also, if this does not help, try as a last resort use a special software.
If not important, paid or free software, I can advise this Recovery Toolbox for Outlook Express: http://www.outlookexpress.recoverytoolbox.com/
But before you start worrying try another search solution in this forum: http://www.filerepairforum.com/forum/microsoft/microsoft-aa/outlook-express/395-something-wrong-with-outlook-express-how-to-fix-it

I GOT INTO THE WRONG AREA, OUTLOOK EXPRESS ON MY PC CAME UP WANTING ME TO ENTER POP3 FOR SEND AND SMYP FOR RECIEVE ON EMAIL STUFF I BELIEVE. SCINCE THEN I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO ACCESS MY EMAIL MY EMAIL...

Do you want to use Outlook Express to access your yahoo mail? It is Web based so you can access it online.

If you want to use Outlook Express then you need to enter the following details for standard Yahoo Mail::

    Yahoo Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.mail.yahoo.com (port 110)
    Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port 25)
    For Yahoo Plus:

      Yahoo Plus Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 995)

      Yahoo Plus Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 465, use authentication)

Can not send mail reliably with smtp.live.com using Outlook Expre

I think maybe you have your outgoing server configured incorrectly.
This is the information I retrieved from Qwest for an Outlook Express setup with a q.com address:
Incoming Server: pop3.live.com (port 995, SSL enabled)

Outgoing Server: smtp.live.com (port 25, SSL enabled, requires authentication)
So unless there is a typo in your post, you need to delete the pop3 portion from the outgoing server address. Please try that, and post back if you have further difficulty.
Refer to this link for detailed setup instructions from Qwest (click here)
I hope this info allows you to resolve this issue. If you require further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your query, please take just a moment to rate this post. Thanks!
