Thanks Heat man 101. If it is the drum, belt, or motor... What would be a round about cost for repair?

My samsung dryer also turned on but would not run. It was because I heard a pop sound when turning the drum counterclockwise the day before, do not do this as it causes the belt to pop off. Putting the belt back on let the dryer start again. CONFIRMED.

The motor won't run if it senses the belt is off.

I have Samsung gas dryer model DV410. no heat, replaced two thermal fuse and hi low limit. Now it only works with timed cycle mode. the rest mode, it runs only for least the 5 minutes and shut off.

timed cycle mean dryer not on sensor dry mode. check wire connection on moisture sensor bars (i think you forget to put 2 wire connector put together). when you use other cycle dryer use moisture sensor to dry cloths so sensor not working dryer will stop in 5 minutes or so because dryer think there are no wet cloths to dry. hope this help you.

Samsung dryer only dries on timed dry cycle. And where is the light bulb in the dryer??

sounds like the timer is sticking in some cycles and works only in timed dry? as the points in other cycles are seized and stuck close? as for the bulb should be along the back wall of tub or near door

I have a Samsung dryer model # DV209AEW , approx 1 yr old , The dryer quit working on the sensor mode (it would keep adding time to the cycle) so we started drying on the timed mode , today it will not...

The belt slipped off the pulley. There is a switch to keep the drum form starting if there is no tension on the belt. There is a service bulletin on most samsung dryers to install a bigger motor pulley to keep the belt from slipping off. Contact your local samsung service provider, or samsung directly and they should take care of it for you.

Blinking AD

AD is auto dry you may need to clean the sensor or you may have a fauilty one ...Auto Dry Loads dried using the Towels, Heavy Duty, Normal, Perm Press, and Delicates cycles will dry automatically at the selected temperature to the desired dryness level. The dryer uses sensing bars to sense the moisture level of the load as it tumbles through heated air. Auto Dry cycles save time and energy and protect fabrics. The estimated drying time will be displayed for about 5 minutes, then the outside of the display will light up in a circular track to indicate the drying time is automatically being determined by the sensors. When the load has reached the selected dryness level, it will continue to tumble, unheated, during a Cool Down period. This helps reduce wrinkling and makes items easier to handle during unloading. The estimated Cool Down time will be displayed. Drying time varies depending on size and dampness of load and fabric type. If the load is too small or almost dry, the sensing bars may not detect enough moisture to continue the cycle and the cycle may end after a few minutes. Select a Timed Dry setting to dry such loads. Room temperature and humidity, type of installation and electrical voltage or gas pressure can also affect drying time. For cycle selection turn the knob on the front of the dryer control panel. The light will illuminate next to the cycle selected. The following is a brief description for what cycles should be chosen for certain items and materials to be dried.

My Samsung dryer 8KG (SDC3K801) is not turning off after completed the cycle time. The panel showing end but the drum still running. If I choose Synthetics extra dry with auto cycle time 49, when the timer at 6, the display increased again to 25. It's seem the dryer is not stopping forever. Any suggestion please!. Thanks

Dryer runs but wont auto shut off

On auto dry cycles, the cycle is controlled by moisture sensing bars located on either the rear or front bulkhead, ( visible inside dryer ) if the moisture sensor bars are shorted together (normally by wet clothing) the dryer will continue to run. If the dryer continues to run when the clothes are plenty dry, check and see if there is anything stuck between the sensor bars, (sometimes a metal sequin will cause this) or see if they are damaged. If not, you may have a problem with a timer contact, if the timer advances and stops moving at the same spot each time, I would suspect the timer. If this is an EvenHeat dryer, examine the control board located to the right of the timer in the control panel, for any burned components. Hope this helps.
