It's just a reminder that you put your TomTom device away ... like out of sight ... so that thieves don't get an opportunity to break into your vehicle to steal your TomTom.
You may change the option (to not display this screen image when you shut off your TomTom) using the "Change Preference" menu.
There are several ways to change the language settings on the TomTom One.
If you do a reset using the reset hole, after restarting the TomTom, you will get again the initial setup page. Page 8 will ask you which one is your favorite language for using the TT.
