If you can get a print out from your printer.....do it as manually.
Go to window start button and find drawing tool under program....(there are games, calculator, memo..etc)
And open up the drawing tools and will see the scanning option under "file manu".
And try to scane manually...
If you would like to save money, try refill kit by "ROADINK". Not only they are easy, but also the printing quality is good. For your better understanding pls check out my youtube video. And will see how easy ink refill can be done.
If even this does not help then there may be some issue with the print spooler of your home pc ..which can be solved by few steps ..but for now I think this will surely help you out
