Disk boot failure can mean a number of things. It mainly means the pct has no device or program to boot from. This could be from as little as a loose connection on the hard drive or other connection to or from the motherboard, or a configuration error in the BIOS setup.
If this problem just happened out of the blue, going from working 1 minute to not the next then it is most likely a loose connection to the hard drive. A sudden accidental hit to the PC can loosen a connection.I would go into the BIOS first to see if the system is recognizing it if so then take the cover off and unplug & plug in each connection 1 at a time.
To go into the BIOS, restart PC and when you here the Sony jingle hold the delete key. The HD should be listed. Also in the boot options the hard drive should be listed as being first or second to the CD/DVD drive.
If you need more help go here for your manual .....

That message means that, for one reason or another, the computer can no longer see it's hard drive. The hard drive may have failed, or it might just not be firmly connected (especially if you recently moved the computer).
