Well put it this way if there is a disc inserted then and it says no disc incertid means that the either the laser is gone or weak or the lens is knocked out of anglement then and needs to be brought back into a proper angle for the lens. Gamecube repair videos on
youtube.

The limit switch letting the unit know the tray is closed is likely failed.

It dont wont to read the disc

Well i just went to put in Sonic hereos and tried my other gamecube games and no scratched discs and the discs look to be fine so the laser needs to be replaced or is a weak laser then. But the wii is fine so my gamecube might have internal problems then.

Got a game cube for my son. inserted a game and it says no disk. we blew in the cube and made sure the games aren't scratched. still says no disk. what do you think we should do next?

Well there seems to be something wrong with the eye of the disc reader in the game cube. It looks like a White little orb in the center where the disc goes. You have to buy a special cleaner for it. And use only a certain type of cloth. Ask your local video game shop if they have some. just call them and I am Sure they would be happy to assist you.

I bought a gamecube online and it wont spin the disk

Sounds like you need the Gamecube sensor switch replaced. That is a small door device for detecting when the Gamecube DVD door or lid is closed allowing disc initiation to begin. When your Gamecube doesn't detect disk at all and simply continues the message: "Please insert a NINTENDO GAMECUBE DISC," this is the problem. You can test this by inserting a game disc, opening the Gamecube door, and then closing it. If the message "Please insert a NINTENDO GAMECUBE DISC" remains unchanged, and there is no spinning of the disk, then your GameCube lid closed door sensor is probably broken and should be replaced. You can search Google for Part GCPT032, or for GameCube Lid Closed Door Sensor.

An easy fix if you know how to open the Cube. It's cable simply plugs in, and it is held by one tiny screw.

Unable to read disc message on Wii

Try a cleaning disc. this may fix this issue. if the issue remains, it will confirm a major problem within the optical assembly. you will need to replace the optical assembly in this case. it has failed.

Contact Nintendo for the optical replacement procedure.

Game cube is saying disc cannot be read

i have had this problem myself. if the game played normally up to the time you were told the disc could not be read, then take out the disc and clean it off. you would be amazed how easily dust and interfer with the normal disc operation. i hope this helps.

Disc can not be read

First off invest in a can of dust off and dust it out through the vents. Take isopropal alcohol (from walmart or anywhere) and a Q-Tip and clean the laser beam that shoots at the CD. I have revived many dead PS2 units when everyone else couldn't not get them to work. Works 75% of the time. Was the disc left in the direct sunlight? Sunlight damages the discs. Hopefully that workds for you and will keep your game cube running for a lot longer!

I have a game cube and it will not read any disc we have controllers work and will turn on but wont read says no disc

ITS MAY BE THE LASER TRY CLEANING IT

IF THAT DON'T WORK

BUT MOST LIKELY IT SOUNDS LIKE THE MOTOR THAT SPINS THE DISC - NEEDS REPLACING

Disc wont read and game won't spin

I Had The Same Problem! And I Have A Solution. Unscrew the top off and look inside.
there is the off and on switch on the opposite side to the right of it are 2 little switches, they have probably been displaced, they must be held back, the problem is they are running the disks around and it they aren't in the back they wont do anything. The Laser Should Be Cleaned using a Q-tip and Peroxide. Don't Use Too Much Just Clean Off The Laser, If That Doesn't Work, Its A Problem Inside The Machine, And is Extremely Hard To Fix, If Thats Your Problem, I Would Just Buy A New One For 99$ Rather Then Paying 80$ For Some Guy To Look At It And Say You Cant Fix It, If He Can Fix It, You Were Lucky, But If I Were You, I Wouldn't Take That Chance, Try What I Said, It Worked For Me, Now My Cube Is As Good As New. XD
I Really Hope This Has Helped You.
