Get paid to take care of loved one in Georgia.

Unfortunately, that would require her to be a licensed care giver, which I have to assume she is not.

I am not an attorney, and am only giving a free opinion to you. You may need to consult an attorney or other professionals.

If your family wants to subsidize your step-mom with compensation in caring for her because of the loss of her job, that would not be Medicaid or Medicare. Sharing the cost of the home to remain out of a nursing home or assisted living facility would be a form of compensation, but probably not enough.

This is a universal crisis for the aged in the United States. You might wish to contact a local social services office, any church or non-profit that could help advise you, but if the family is determined to find a nursing home, and a Doctor approves Medicare or Medicaid payment, that will happen. A slight possibility is that she has give a valid written power of attorney and over health decisions over to you or your step-mom, and you wish to use legal means to prevent it.

I have recently purchased, used, a Everest and Jennings Metro Power power wheelchair. In searching the Internet, for any manuals or information, I have determined this is NOT a model three. I do not...

Have you contacted the Everest and Jennings Power Wheelchair company? Surely they would have something. I checked on eBay and found nothing in the way of owners manuals, but there are some medical supply companies who sell on eBay that I have purchased several items for my special needs daughter. They seem to have extensive equipment and supplies of all sorts.

Or, here is contact info for Doane's Medical Equipment who appear to have Everest and Jennings power wheelchairs. Perhaps they could point you in the right direction.

Our father ordered a 600 series chair in 2008. Shortly thereafter he was perminently admitted to a nursing home. We are required to disposed of all our parents assets to pay for the care. When trying...

The chair uses an offboard charger if you are missing the cable that plugs into the wall then any computer type plug will work you should also be able to find one at WalMart. The chair was probably worth $4000.00 paid for by Medicare. Now some nursing homes will allow power chairs and if they have some clients with power chairs at the your Dads home then they have to allow your Dad to use his and to maintain it ie replace batteries etc. if they don't try donating the chair to a local charity or to a provider to use as a loaner chair when working on others chairs. If you donate it to a person then they have to pay for repair costs and repairs can get rather pricy for motors, joysticks, wheels, batteries etc

If you want to you cn e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll give you more info

Hope this helps

No longer any use for chair, now what?

Flo If the chair is in good working order, you can try to sell it but remember that it won't bring much or you could donate it to a local nursing home or assisted living facility or just junk it if it needs repair Hope this helps

Front wheel threaded rod & bolt design problem

You might try Lowe's or Home Depot's hardware section. They might have a plastic bolt cover or plastic nut that you could put over the threaded end.
