I tried to clean my Pentair CC-150 pool filter but when I tried to
lift the cartridge up and out of the filter shell it wouldn't budge.
Any suggestions?
Thank's

This is a common problem with cartridge pool filters, but it should come out with a little elbow grease. Try gently twisting it
back and forth like a steering wheel using firm even
pressure.

if you have a sand filter. you can economize and perform a long backwash cycle. this will clean the sand and lower the water level. otherwise, just use the drain/waste option. if you have a cartridge filter, your manufacturer should have installed a three way drain valve between the pump and filter. by turning this valve, the water will be diverted from the filter to waste
you cant backwash that is a cartridge filter you have to take the big ring off the center drain water out of the filter then remove cartridges soak them in a solution of tsp Tri sodium phosphate (you can buy at hardware store soak of rinse with this solution then rinse with water then use filter cleaner on them then rinse then put back together
If you are talking about the cartridge, You first have to make sure filter is off. turn and open the pressure gauge to release pressure. Now If you can reach the bottom drain plug, unscrew it. If you can't that's okay. Your filter has a center belt - ring, and it has two push tabs. Push up and turn it counterclockwise. Take that off and you should be able to pull out lid. If you have a hard time taking off the lid, get a flat head screw driver and pried it open.. Good luck.
Hi .. most cartridge filters can be cleaned by removing the top of the filter container. Then you take out the cartridges and use a hose on a solid stream and wash down the filter fabric. This will remove all the trapped sediment and debris. If you want to remove the organic deposits then you would use an acid to flush the cartridges, for this you should consult someoine at a pool shop for the proper solution and procedure ,,
