You usually have to take out the SD card, close the door and then delete images in camera in the normal way (press delete button in play mode, when confirmation dialogue appears, press delete button again, select >delete all< and press OK). Most cameras default to the memory card when one is inserted, that's why you have to take it out to delete data from the internal memory.
Hope that helps

Certainly. If you're sure you've copied all the pictures you want to your computer, simply format the card to wipe it clean. Rotate the mode dial to the screwdriver-and-wrench position and turn the camera on. Use cursor-down to select "Format" and press the OK button. The instructions are in the "Formatting an SD Memory Card or Internal Memory" section of the manual (page 22 in my copy).

Memory cards should be formatted each time you finish transferring your pictures to your computer. FixYa is full of people asking how to retrieve pictures from cards that haven't been formatted regularly.

I took photos without memory card inserted and need to transfer the built-in memory photos to memory card. Can someone help me? I have a Pentax Optio M50.

The quickest way to do that is to attach the camera with a USB to the computer directly without any card inserted. Then click Start/My Computer and your internal memory folder should appear as an external memory along with C: D: etc.
There may be also a similar way using the software provided by Canon when you bought the camera?. Hope this works.

Error message Built in memory full. Also won't read memory card.

You need to format the internal memory with no card in the camera. Then, you need to format the memory card in the camera.

Recovering deleted photos

Hi,

If these photos were formatted from a memory card and not from the internal memory of the camera, there is a reasonable chance of recovering them.

Please have a look at this FixYa Tip which outlines the possible solutions.

Thanks.

Can't view image, and "built in memory full" is displayed

Connect your camera to a computer and offload all the pictures. Then, format the camera's internal memory. If you have a memory card, it's best to use that and only use the internal memory when the card fills up.

Internal memory card full

You are using built in internal memory (11Mb).

One of these must help:
*Check memory card.
*Check picture saving settings.
*Reset to factory defaults.

Memory Card Full

Hi, 1.make sure your memory card is not damaged and also formatted by camera ,this is because if card is damaged or not recognized the camera stores image in internal memory which may be full by this time. 2.backup all your data and delete all from internal memory also format the card and try using it. All the best my friend regards sreejith

File numbers problem in S4

I think you may have a defective camera - my S4 does not do this. Maybe you should reset the camera software by taking out the battery for a couple days and then try it again.
