Home power adapter for the SBM300 is an ADP 2007. There are a few used ones for sale on line.

First check if it's the problem of ac adapter or power jack. Test it with a known good adapter, if it works, then you need a replacement ad adapter, but it not, then you'd better repair the power jack.

if the AC adapter is humming, refrain (stop) from using it !

the adapter is physically damaged and the internal transformer has been dropped several times to make such a noise.

Possible cause: 1. Power adapter failure.
2. Motherboard failure.
Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solution: First of all, test the power adpater. Make sure the apdapter outputs correct voltage. It's possible that the outup voltage is not correct and the laptop shuts down to prevent the damge. Test your laptop with anohter known good power adapter.
If the problem still exists, even after replacing the adapter, most likley it's the motherboard failure. Replace the motherboard.

I think the correct part number is LA65NS0-00, it is @ http://www.ebuybatteries.com/product/laptop-adapters/Dell/Dell-AC090W008T21.htm , the adapter is a replacement, not genuine.

It may be possible that your adapter does not receive the rated power it should receive. You may have plugged your adapter to a 110 v outlet when the required input is 220 volts. See your adapter for the specific requirements.
