Tw 200 has been standing for a while replaced battery and put in fresh fuel but the electric starter cannot get it started even the kick start wont start. Checked the plug this also new and gives good spark Where can I start looking for the problem?
Re: Tw 200 has been standing for a while replaced battery...
Check fuel system, especially clean carburetor: needle, float chamber. Gently clean air routes with compressed air. Long stand could have caused lodgements from fuel. Hope it helps. Cheers
Yup, clean the entire fuel system fro tank to carb jets, TW 200 hafe odd screws on the carb assembly, Phillips/Pozidrive don't work...Yup, clean the entire fuel system fro tank to carb jets, TW 200 hafe odd screws on the carb assembly, Phillips/Pozidrive don't work...

did you drain the fuel line is the fuel pump electric you may be able to disconnect fuel line near engine and pump fresh fuel through the fuel line by powering the fuel pump while putting the old fuel in the lines into a fuel container.
Old gas? Did you pull out the spark plug and see if you have a spark? If the gas is old, drain the tank and line to the carburator, then put in fresh gas. Never put it up for the summer with gas in it. Run it until the engines runs out of fuel, then put it away.
I have this bike. This is what i would try. Charge battery, replace old fuel with fresh fuel, manual says 91 Octane. You can drain old fuel out from fuel filter line, also good to replace fuel filter and spark plug. Spark plug is accessed from small panel behind where your ankles would be while riding. Fuel filter is above kick starter. Try and kick start, note its not the power of the kick that matters, its the position of the kick mechinisim - doesn't always have to be from the very top, you have to feel it be at a point just befofre it engages then kick. and DON't give it throttle when you're starting. If 10 kicks fail. Wait for the fuel to dry out for a few minutes, easy to flood with repeat failed starts...
sounds like the kick stand switch is stuck. try shooting some carb cleaner in it to remove gunk. You can verity by checking the switch's continuity with a VOM or just jumping with a paper clip.
I ha d a similar problem, so try the following. Screw out the spark plug and check its function. If it gives spark only BEFORE and AFTER eletrical starter works (when you push+relase the starter button) it means you have a weak battery. It doesn`t have enough energy to rotate the starter and give spark at the same time.
If it was fuel it would not start with a push. I think you have a bad switch. Now you will need to have bike in Neutral. Remove button switch turn key or power switch on. Take a wire and jump a cross switch. If the bike starts replace the switch.
