Apparently I need a fuel pump replaced in my 2005 toyota corolla. The garage wants a fortune to do this. Being a single mom I can't afford it. So if anyone knows how to change one and could tell me I would really appreciate it.

no computer tells u a fuel pump is bad, I would have had him do the job, if he is wrong then he would have to make it right, if he is wrong and u do the work and replace the pump then u are out about $125.00 DENSO Part # 9510001 Fuel Pump OE Manufacturer

  • Anonymous Jul 02, 2010

Thank you so much. I think I will have him order the part you suggested, DENSO part 9510001 and let him do it.

    Thanks again

On an '05 Corolla BCAS1298 is right on the money on replacing it. However unless you can find a low mileage used one the part is almost $1000 brand new from the Toyota dealer

Fuel pump sits under the back seat, remove back seat, there will be a panel, remove screw's, remove fuel line's, and harness to fuel pump (connector) and ring that hold's fuel pump in gas tank, lift fuel pump assembly and replace fuel pump, if your getting it done at a repair shop labor for this job to remove and replace is .8 tenths of an hour X there labor rate = your cost for labor.Call around some repair shop's will install your fuel pump if you buy the part.

2005 Toyota Corolla not getting fuel to the engine. Will run on starting fluid

Firstly, ensure the fuel pump is okay by checking the pressure of the fuel supplied and replacement of internal fuel pump filter in the fuel tank.

Ensure the nozzles is properly cleaned.

My car is consuming too much fuel..any advise?

Your fuel pump might be broken, or something with the fuel injection system.
I checked the internet, and I see a lot of 2005 Toyota Corolla's have fuel consumption problems.

So, check that with some mechanic, or if you are 100% that is fuel pump you can change it yourself.

Just replaced the fuel pump on my Toyota Corolla 2005 and apparently looses pressure when is parked for a while, causing a difficult start. Thanks. Carlos Kall

If you had the pressure tested and is actually low after setting, then the only thing to look for is a leak, If there is no line leak as in the tubing not the connection, there are usually only three connection points for fuel lines at the tank, fuel filter or fuel injector rail, these are most likely place to loose pressure in the line, usually evidence by stains or liquid fuel present

04 corolla torque converter code

My 2005 corolla is making a horrible noise and shuddering when it comes to a stop. We just had all the solenoids changed and a new ECM that had been recalled by Toyota. We took it out of overdrive and it stopped the noise and the studdering . There have been no codes on this problem as yet.

Any ideas???

2005 corolla fuel pump replace, can't find right pump is there japanese version

Yes, there is one for the corolla's made in Japan. It's very expensive and there is a service bulletin on them. If you have, I believe, less than either 60 or 50k miles, Toyota will reimburse the cost of the pump but not the labor to install. You can only get this pump from the dealer from what I understand. The reason I know is that I have a Japanese model that had the fuel pump go out...

2005 corolla hit in front

No, Toyota Corollas don't have an inertia switch, that is mostly a Ford thing. Check to see if you hear the fuel pump run when you turn the key on. Check the fuel pump relays, fuses (EFI relays and fuses) or might be the fuel pump itself. If it does run, there might be some wires that were disconnected or displaced upon impact.

My 1996 Toyota Corolla acts like it is not getting enough fuel. It stalled out and I had to pull over. I managed to get it started and made it home. Is this the fuel filter? fuel pump? Is there an easy way...

First thing to do especially since your not sure is to replace the fuel filter. Should be done every 25K - 30K also check the air filter you could have a plastic bag stuck in there or lots of wet leaves.

After that it's best to get engine diags done by a professional.
