Idels rough and goes away at driving seeds dont know if its the mass air flow sensor can you test these at home it is 200.00 part and not returnable changed cap rotor wires fuel fiter cleaned throtle body and mass flow sensor changed gas cap no check eng light present noise at end of tail pipe sounds like bop bop bop not poping kinda like missing but not

ok lets start with the codes they say your getting. P??? which 1's and how many. there are few o2 sensors, are they next to the Exhaust next to the converter? MASS AIR FLOW -MAF use this, for now i am guessing, until i see the correct codes your are getting. this could be the 1 you may have below, please read it........
Faulty mass air flow sensor
- Intake air leaks
- Dirty mass air flow sensor
- Dirty mass air filter
- Mass air flow sensor harness is open or shorted
- Mass air flow sensor circuit poor electrical connection
Before replacing the mass air flow sensor, try replacing the air filter and cleaning the air flow sensor with low compress air or mass air flow sensor cleaner. Reset code and drive vehicle. If the code comes back, it may be necessary to replaced the mass air flow sensor.
possible symptoms Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Engine stall
- Engine running rough
- Excessive fuel consumption
- Excessive smoke
the code is generated when An excessively high voltage from the sensor is sent to Engine Control Module (ECM).
P0121 is for TPS sensor, clean your throttle body. Use a rag, toothbrush and carb cleaner. Get it clean. P0102 is for Mass air flow sensor. Try cleaning it first. No toothbrush use qtips on tiny wires. Be careful not to break wires. It's located between air filter and throttle body. Clear light and retest. If 102 returns , replace mass air flow sensor. Also test all wires at sensors. Wiggle and pull. Resolder as needed
TRY FUEL FILTER IF NOT THEN DISCONECT YOUR EGR VALVE TEST DRIVE SEE IT GOES AWAY OTHERE DO A FUEL PRESSURE TEST AND CLEAN YOUR MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR IS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON LET ME KNOW IF IT IS GO TO AUTO ZONE AND GET CODES IF LIGHT IS ON LET ME KNOW WHAT CODES ARE ON IT OK
As long as everything you've mentioned is in good working condition I would test your O2 sensors and your mass air flow sensor both could cause a rough erratic idle and even a miss if the O2 sensors send a bad signal to ecu which would affect fuel trim ratio
hi there, when air flow unplugged, ecu goes into limp home mode ,a back up if something dies whilst driving. it sounds as if your used mass air flow sensor is faulty , they are more fragile than they look, one knock and these early fine wire models are gone. i replaced many when i worked at a volvo dealership a few years ago. hope this helps, and good luck.
fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail is probably it or the egr valve is stuck open allowing burnt fuel to flood the intake, im leaning towards the fuel pressure regulator because the o2sensor is probably reading rich or if its reading lean then i would choose the egr valve . good luck
