Fine sandpaper works well for this, but the flame sensor design is very fussy. Had issues since day one with this.

My gas endless summer heater shuts the flame off abruptly after 5 minutes or so. why??

The first consumable part to fail on a gas patio heater is the thermcouple, these can last anywhere between 1 year to 6 years. When faulty it will cause the heater to shut off when turned on at pilot. Found this site very useful patio heater problem solving.

Flame stops suddenly after running for a while. Yes, there is fuel.

Check that there are no leaks, to do a leakage test see patio guide to problem solving. If OK then check the thermocouple, when worn out they will cause the pilot to switch off.

I have an endless summer 92000 table top propane heater. Lights fine, but the flame does not burn at the edge of the burner. Instead, it only burns in the very center of the burner... much like a Bunsen...

Actually, it's a gas pressure issue. But, it's fairly easy to solve. First, you need to be sure that your LP Tank has a sufficient amount of gas. If it does, turn the propane tank valve OFF. Disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes. Then reconnect the hose to the tank and turn the valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open, light the burner as you normally do and turn the burner flames to HIGH. Has the burner flame returned to normal? If so, you solved the problem. Just remember to always turn the tank valve ON very, very slowly.

If it didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the heater's hose/regulator assembly. Generally, i's the same type that a gas grill uses. So, it won't be hard to find one.

Hope this helped to troubleshoot and solve your problem. Please let me know.

Flame goes out after 5 to 10 min then have to wait until it cools to relight

Unless, it's the wind blowing the flame out, I'd say the Thermocouple needs to be replaced. This is based on what you said, " have to wait until it cools to relight." The reason for that, is that the burner control valve has to reset itself. You can also check the pilot and pilot orifice for obstructions. Blowing it out with a can of compressed air with a straw nozzle (like you clean your computer with) may also help solve the problem. As insects like to build nests in these heaters, when they are not in use.

Endless Summer Patio Heaters are manufactured by Blue Rhino under the name Uniflame and Endless Summer. You can purchase any necessary parts from them online, if necessary.

Hope this helps you to solve your problem.

I have an endless summer patio heater the pilot lights but the does not stay on when you turn the knob to start the heater. Got it on once but then the flame blew out and could not start again

You need to replace the Thermocouple. Endless Summer Patio Heaters are manufactured by Uniflame, which is owned by Blue Rhino. You can order the Thermocouple direct ly from either company. Just make sure you have your Model Number handy.

Have Endless Summer patio heater. I got the burner to run but after 3-5 minutes the heater shuts down. Also having problems getting the unit to fire after lighting pilot light Maybe thermo coupler?

It could be the thermocouple, but you have to take the head apart to replace it. If you got the main burner to fire, then the thermocouple is probably ok. Try changing the regulator, easy to do and not to expensive. If that doesn't work, try taking the head apart and cleaning the pilot and main burner orifices, do both while you are in there. If you are not comfortable doing this, hire someone.
