An 18V cordless tool battery is made of a number of cells. As the cells fail over time, you lose voltage output. Once cells have failed, you need to replace or rebuild the battery. If this is a new battery you need to get it replaced under warranty because it's defective.

There are third party battery manufacturers who can replace the cells on some models and types of cordless tool batteries. This can be substantially cheaper than buying replacement name brand batteries. Primecell.com has had good reviews on some of the Taunton press (Finewoodworking Magazine) forums. If you are considering this route, don't forget to factor shipping into the cost of repair vs. replace.

I have a P115 Ryobi Intelliport charger , will it charge the new lithium 18 V battery?

Ryobi P115 is an 18V battery charger. However, Ryobi Manual did not mention the current rating of P115. if the current rating of Ryobi P115 is 50% higher than your 18V Lithium Battery it will charge. but if it's less than or equal, it will not.

Is there 2 type of battery chargers for ryobi one+ and lithium 18v one +

I just went through this with Porter Cable 18V but I can't say it is the same for Ryobi. On the PC, all 18V batteries are interchangable on the tools, but the charging needs are different. A dedicated NiCad charger can't shouldn't be used for liOn but the later chargers will work for either battery.

Why does ryobi 18V cordless not charge

Please check the LED status of your charger. If both of the charger'sLED flashing, but it can charge a good battery. Than the battery is defective, you may replace a new Ryobi P206 Battery http://www.batteryshops.co.uk/tags_products/ryobi-p206-12-18v-2-speed-drill-driver-battery_6854.html

Will the P110 charger charge a lithium ion battery

No, the P110, 18V NiCad battery charger, will not charge a 18V lithium ion battery. You need one of the dual-chemistry chargers. If you have the Ryobi ONE+ batteries, you can get the P117 charger ($30) or a charger with an extra battery (P126) from a store like Home Depot. A 6 battery charger and a 12V in-car charger are also available.

I wish that I had better news for you.

I bought 2 P103 lithium batteries and they will not take a charge from my one + (p110) charger. I was informed that these components are all interchangeable. Will the P103s work with the blue 18v ryobi...

That is true the One+ 18V Li-Ion battery packs will work in any One+ 18V Ryobi tool. However the Lithium ion batteries will not charge in the original P110 NiCd charger. You will need one of the the new series Ryobi One+ 18V "dual chemistry" chargers for that. The will charge both types of battery packs.

I have a ryobi 18V battery and the only charger I have is a ryobi 14.4V. Can I charge the 18V battery on that charger?

Hello, unless the charger specifies that it charges 18 volt, it will only charge a 14.4v properly. If the battery fits the charger physically, then the most you might get an 18v to charge at is 15 or 16 volts. Your battery life will be shorter and you might damage the charger. I hope this helps.

Can you charge ryobi lithium batteries in a regular ryobi charger?

NO! Never charge lithium batteries in a charger designed for nickle based batteries like the NiHi your old charger was meant for. Ryobi did design the new Lithium charger to be backwards compatible so you can charge your older 18V NiHi batteries in the Lithium 18V charger.
Also note, NEVER miss-match the voltage, for example, make sure you are not trying to charge 12V batteries in an 18V charger unless the manufacturer has specifically stated that the charger is capable of multiple voltages.

Charging an 18v battery with a 14.4v charger

No, absolutely not! But it won't charge it either.

Ryobi 18v One+ battery won't hold a charge. I have two of them and neither one will hold the charge. The charger is the Ryobi 18v charger plus.

Does it not hold a charge, or will the charge not indicate "fast charge"? I had to apply a initial jump charge on the battery to get it up to 20 volts, then I put it in the Ryobi Charger, and it started charging it.
