Sent email to a long list of recepients via "reply all". I got so many back saying email returned due to Permanent Failure. Then at the bottom of the email it said "email truncated"?? Why did these fail? Did the recepient reject my email? Did any of these people receive it? How do I know? I sent a follow up email and ask the original sender if he rec'd my email and that email came back saying "Permanent Failure"?? Please help!!

Hi there. Try to send email to yourself first just to check/test if your email server is working. If you were able to receive email from yourself then there is no problem with your email or your mail server. There might a problem with the recipients email address. Might be the recipients email address does not exist or is incapable of accepting return mail.

I have an existing yahoo ID and I can access it. however when anyone emails me, they receive the failure notice saying that my yahoo ID doesn't exist.

Send an email from your Yahoo email account to someone who gets the error message. Ask them to click "reply" to the email you sent and see if you receive the reply ok. Also make sure their address is in your Yahoo email contacts list.

Why is gmail server not forwarding mail

Just read; google has sent the message, but the recipient was wrong.
Don't you need to send the message to <someone>@myregisteredsite.com ? That looks more likely.
Or
<name>@mymail.myregisteredsite.com

On clickin the "new" option in the top of the

Clicking the "NEW"set your Yahoo! email to use the new version instead of the Classic version.

Only if you wanted to send copies of your email to someone else except your original recepient (the email in your "To: " field), then you can use the CC or BCC field to put up email addresses of additional recepients.

Cc: stands for "Carbon Copy". If you want to send copies of the email to another person or another email address, then you can put the email address on that field. The original recepient on the "To:" field would know that you have sent copies to that person.

Bcc: stands for "Blind Carbon Copy". This means you can add up a person's email address if you want to send a copy of the email, BUT you dont want your original recepient to find out that you have sent a copy of the email to someone else.

Should you need futher clarification or assitance, please let me know. Thank you so much for using FixYa.

Stolen PASSWORD and Hotmail ID.I can't get into my email but someone can! Theif has emailed everyone on my contact list to say I've suddenly had to go abroad to attend a seminar in England and lost my...

You've been scamed via a virus which stole your contact listand sent the emails. Contact Hotmail support and have them shutdown the account. Also have your friend save the email he got and ping the address to find out were it came from. With some digging you can even find out who stole your account. Forget about the old info, something there is carrying the virus.

When i reply to emails sometimes the message does not register in the sent folder but goes in the draft folder instead, how do i know if my email has been sent?

They will only go to the draft folder if you accidentally click the Save to Draft option instead of Send. It is very easy to do! If an email has been sent it will go, by default, to the Sent folder.

If you locate the email that you have replied to or sent then highlight it and then right click on it a drop down list will appear.

Select and click the View Full Headers option at the bottom of the list. This will give a popup window containing header info. If you read through it will show the following:

  1. From which should be your email plus the date and time
  2. a whole bunch of misc characters
  3. From with your name / email address shown
  4. Subject – whatever the email subject was
  5. To – Name / email address of who you sent the email to or replied to
  6. Content Type – plus some unintelligible info
  7. Content Length – which is the true size of the email plus any attachments.

If you can see this then it conforms that you message has been successfully sent from you email account.

Note: It does not show or guarantee that the email has been received or read at the recipients end.

I want to recall the last email sent

Hi Pete 1221,

If you are using Microsoft Outlook, then you can recall the email you sent by going to the "Sent Items" folder then open the message click on the ACTIONS menu on the top then choose "Recall This Message". It should be able to get the message back, unless the recepient already read the email.

I don't know about the programs, but some of the programs have something similar to this also, so you need to check HELP function of the program. For online emails like GMAIL or Yahoo! it usually doesn't have the option to retrieve the message back after you sent it in.

Hope this helps!

Peace! :)
