Firefox version applied to: 3.6 and upwards. You can check your version: Right click on the shortcut Get the Properties and go to the Version tab and Click on Product Version
To hide the Menu Bar, right-click on an empty area in the toolbars and uncheck Menu Bar to hide. If you need to access the menu bar, simply press the ALT key and the menu bar will re-appear temporarily.

Firefox version applied to: Prior to 3.6 (3.5 Series) - Better if you can update.
Firefox 3.5 users can also hide their Menu Bar, but will need an extension such as Personal Menu or Compact Menu 2. If you need to know further details about it please let us know the Add-on you have used.
There are many Add-ons for FF and you have to remember which one you are having if you have used one. Anyway Right clicking on the Tool bar space will give you a menu and check for Unticked Option related to Hide / Minimize Tool bar.
If the solution solved your problem and if you feel its helpful please rate the answer with a testimonial.

Toolbar for firefox 9

Are you trying to display the menu bar (which contains dropdown menus for "File", "Edit" etc.) at the top of the browser window?

If that is not shown, click on the "Firefox" button (at upper left corner), then go to Options and select "Menu bar".

12_31_2011_10_42_07_am.gif
(Alternatively, you can click the "ALT" key, then go to: View > Toolbars and then select "Menu bar".)

That will display the menu bar.

You may later hide the menu bar (if you wish), by going to: View > Toolbars and de-select "Menu bar".

I delted toolbars to make my window bigger and now I can't get the toolbars back. I don't have anything to click on - just the windows that are open.

The Firefox "menu bar" includes dropdown menus for various tasks (including "File", "Edit", etc.). If the menu bar does not display, press the "Alt" key (if you are using Windows). That will restore the menu bar temporarily. To restore it permanently, go to the menu bar and select:
View > Toolbars > Menu bar

The Firefox "navigation toolbar" includes the "back", "forward", "reload" buttons, and the address bar (where you type a web address). If the navigation bar does not display, go to the menu bar and select:
View > Toolbars > Navigation toolbar

The Firefox "bookmarks toolbar" displays frequently used bookmarks. If the bookmark toolbar does not display, go to the menu bar and select:
View > Toolbars > Bookmarks toolbar

I seem to have lost my toolbar that has the forward/back button and the addy box... the bookmarks are gone and the File/View/tools also. I have windows 7 and I am using firefox

If you are in firefox and press F10 that should show your "File, edit, view etc" bar.

Alt + V to display your "View" menu and then turn back on your toolbars in the "Toolbars" menu

  3. Once this is done, the menu bar will be visible

All my toolbars are gon even the view option ones how do i restore my address bar back now ?

Bring up Mozilla Firefox, and just before you get to the blue bar running across the top of Mozilla Firefox, right click the mouse button. It may take a couple of tries. Once a selection box appears next to the mouse, you should notice that the menu bar selection probably doesn't have a check mark next to it. Stroll down and highlight the menu bar selection, and with a left click of the mouse a check mark should appear next to it. This should cause "File Edit, View, etc." to all reappear. You probably don't have a check mark next to Navigation Toolbar either so, open the View tab and left click the Navigation Toolbar location. Upon completion of last instructions the address bar, refresh and back and forward should all reappear.

My address bar, refresh button, back and forward arrows etc. have disappeared. Why has this happened and how do I get them back?

You are missing your navigation toolbar. Hopefully you still have the menu bar where it say's, "File Edit, View etc." Move your mouse up to the View tab and left click that tab. That menu should open. Slide down to toolbar and items like Menu Bar, Navigation Toolbar should have check marks beside them. You probably don't have a check mark next to Navigation Toolbar so, left click that location. Upon completion of last instructions the address bar, refresh and back and forward should all reappear.

I accidently unchecked all the toolbars at the top and have no book marks or navigation. Just a web page. How do I get al my bookmarks back?

Open FireFox.
Press and release the ALT key on your keyboard.
Does the "File Edit View ..." menu show up?
If so, use the mouse to re-enable the toolbars.
