I have a 1995 14 hp OHV Kohler Command Craftsman II 6-speed 42" lawn tractor. It won't start. Won't turn over. The battery is good. I think it may be the safety switch. The pedal serves for disengage and the brake. Where is the safety switch on the mower? I think this is the problem and I want to fix it. I replaced the solonoid already.
You probably have a safety switch on the mover deck engagement lever or close by. It may have gotten disconnected or the actuation lever may have gooten bent causing it to not make correct contact with the switch. (If it is a manual Engagement)
You might also check the ignition switch, it might have come unplugged or the connector may have come loose. Also the saftey switch that is on the clutch pedal or brake pedal may have been damaged or may not be making contact.
how do I get to the switch?
Please refer the picture attached. ( Red rounded portion indicates the switch.)

where is the safety switch for the disengage pedal?
Safety switches are located under
1. Seat
2. Clutch pedal
3. Blade engage leaver.
From you explanation I suggest to check the following :
Remove the Shut Off Wire from the Coil/Ignition Module. Check if the Engine Fire? If Yes, then a Safety Switch is Bad. If No, then the Coil/Ignition Module is Bad.
The First Safety Switch to Check is the Clutch/Brake.
I NEVER Suggest a Mower be Operated with a Safety Device or Switch Disconnected or Bypassed. Now. On Some Model Mowers you can Simply Unplug the Safety Switch from the Harness. On Other Models you have to Place a Jumper Wire Between the Harness Terminals. Check the Clutch/Break and the Blade/PTO Safety Switchs First. Check the Seat Safety Last. Usually the Seat Safety is Not in the System for Starting the Engine. Just to Ensure Someone is in the Seat when Engaging the Transaxle and/or Blades. Hope this Helps.
