SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

When i turn on my camera itshows write protected. and when i remove the memorycard it worked well. After i connected my camera to my computer. Now how can i fix it and make re writeable

Hi, it's one of two things--if you accidentally 'protected' your files (look for a small key symbol when you view the files), then you can undo this in the playback menu or look at the SD card-on the left there is a little tab, slide it upwards, this will unlock your card. Hope this helps.
tip

SD or MMC card is password protected in a cellular phone

THIS WILL MAKE YOU LOOSE ALL FILES!!!
(even password)
Take the memorycard out of the phone and,
put it in a computer.Use filesystem FAT-32
to reformat your memorycard.
Now the card will work again!
No password will be left and no files will be left after a
complete reformat.
Now you can use your locked memorycard again!

When we are about to take the picture "write protect" comes written.and the picture isnt shot! so what to do?

1. If you are using a SD(HC) memorycard in the camera, be sure that you have set
the Write Protect switch on the memorycard to the not LOCKED position.

2. You may further look at the manual page 40, page 53 and page 59.

The disc is write protected

SD and Micro SD memory cards has a smallslide switch on the edge of the card, which write protects data on the memorycard. Slide the switch from the READ position tothe WRITE position, which is furthest away from the contacts.
