We have a Creda built in gas range and the individual burner "pots" are very difficult to clean. I was wondering if there is a way to dismantle the assembly for easy cleaning.

If you are talking about the top burners they just have to be pulled out cause the top is removable ..and the inside part removes as well if you insist a little..If you are talking about the oven burner..you should be able to remove the lid that covers it ...it is not supposed to be fixed ..but removable ...Im talking about the metal sheet that covers the burner....in the horizontal lower part of the oven...after you remove it ..you will have access to the burner range and the pipes...Some models have a few screws at the sides..but usually just removes if you force it up...

I clean the burners and the ignite it is not working if i used a lighter the back tow burners will turn on but not the front ones

Sometimes when we clean the burners we get some debris or gunk into the gas outlets. I always take a toothpick and clean out the gas openings. Be very careful that you don't break the toothpick off in the opening. Once you've done this, use a lighter at the burner and turn on the gas. You should have a flame. Let the flame burn for about 5 minutes to burn off any more "gunk" that may be in there. Also, if your burners have covers, make sure they are in place before you light the burner.
Depending on the age of your range, you might need to clean around the igniter. Some are concealed and you can't reach them. Those that are not concealed can be cleaned by wiping with a soft, dry cloth.
I hope these suggestions help you get your range working again. If they do, please come back to Fixya and rate my advice!

Ignitor keeps clicking on burner

A creda microwave oven doesn't have an ignitor or burner, so I assume you are talking about either a BBQ grill or gas range.

A suggestion: Clean the ignitor tip with a CLEAN and DRY green scouring pad; check that you have gas coming out of the burner.

If you have gas at the burner and the ignitor is clicking (sparking) then it is usually an ignitor alignment problem where the ignitor got bumped out of position.

Do you know what the average electric cooktop lifespan is? We have a Kenmore that is 9 years old and working fine. However, we are in the midst of a renovation and are wondering if it wouldn't be wise to...

The life span of the range depends on it's use or abuse.... Common issues are burners and the connections that the burner plugs into. These are not hard to change out.... There is nothing that can make the stove useless, if you keep after it. Newer units do a better job of retaining the heat within the unit, oven wise....Which is nice.

A gas range is certainly nicer, so they say. It is faster, but has one odd issue: if you boil water over, you can put out the flame and have raw gas running in. Most work this way, expensive units have thermal sensors that would turn off the gas flow in flame out condition....

My wife loves her gas range....

We installed our new gas stove now. I would like to know if al the burners' sparks will fire if one knob is pressed in?

This is a pretty common practice; there is normally only one high voltage source, not one for each burner, and is routed to all of them any time one range-top control is depressed. This eliminates the need for 4 individual special high voltage switches to route them to one burner at a time.

I have a belling range gas cooker, i have just changed the thermo couple but now the gas is not coming through as much as it should, the relaese of gas is normally fast and you are able to hear it but now...

There is no reason why the gas level has dropped after the thermocouple was changed but the ONLY reason can be an accidental fault in the fitting or refitting.
So go over the same job and check from the gas line, the regulator and the burner. Use a good air jet to blow the passage clean. make sure there is good contact of the burner to the base for a good fuel mix.
check if there was any restriction inthe gas flow when the fitting was done. The fault can be only here, remove gas and use a air pressure to check the flow line, clean and set back.
