I have a Conair HC114WVR and I took the blades off to clean the hair out. It's not that old, but when I put the blades back on they vibrate to a point of grinding. I can't figure out what I need to do to get them back on straight.

You can use a damp cloth after use to remove hair and other debris. There isn't really a way to sharpen the clipper though. The work on more of a shearing motion, but if you notice it has a lot of pull, you can order new blades online.

Sounds like you may need the blade sharpened, it may be dull, otherwise the motor may not be functioning properly. Does he have thick or coarse hair? If so, you may need to go through it lightly in sections otherwise it will for sure pull, I learned that way back in hair school long ago. :) Goodluck!

It soulds like the blades are too far back. There is an adjustmebt piece to the right or left of the blade that is about 1 1/2-2" long and it slides forward and backwards.
Ths will adjust the blade depth. It sounds like the blades may be set too far back to cut your hair, this has to bring the 2 blades together so you have much less free edge on one side, so what you do is slide ths blade by adjusting the handle and bring the blades to just where one side is slightly shorter than the other less than 1 cm. Then make sure the guard is off and slde the adjustment head is set and then try it agan. Unusually it is the problem if it does not cut or the blades have come loose. Hope that helps.

Go to a Sally Beauty supply and purchase a can of the blade wash. It is relativly inexpensive. You dip your blades into ths special wash and it cleans the blades and keep them sharp and is safe. DO NOT take the heads apart, Let the pros do that but blade cleaner you immerse them in and trust me it is what we pros use.
