Leaf spring replacement

I really do not know what you are asking from what you wrote. if any pulley is squealing , it has to be replaced right away

• sounds like a band lost it's grip and the leafs slide back on you or the bands just broke and the leafs hit the ground.
• You can stick a jack under the rear pumpkin and jack the truck up. You may find cutting or touching that big U-Bolt off will be easier than fighting the bolt itself.
• Once you get the springs off you can attempt to reband them or replace the leaf springs.

Both of my big Ford trucks had to have the rear leaf spring mounts replaced. Look at your rear springs - if they are leaf style then check the rear mount points to see if they have broken loose. The springs end up moving way too much and it is not safe.

you have 1/2 ton in a 1/4 ton truck. you need a bigger truck.

The leaf springs should hold up the bed. The shocks generaly determine how much bounce there is when you go over a bump. In air shocks they can lower the vehicle and still keep the vehicle from bounceing a lot.

also check all your suspension bushings make sure they are all good. spare tire holder maybe? make sure none of the rear leaf springs are broken. also make sure all the bolts holding the bed down properly. make sure it isnt your tailgate either... could pretty much be anything. just make sure you bushings are good and everything is tight.

Leaf springs can be weak in that side I've also seen the bushings in the mounting points of the leafsprings wear out causing a slight lean.

Condition Some customers may comment on a rear leaf spring slap or clunk noise. This noise is most apparent when the vehicle is operated over irregular road surfaces.
Correction Important: DO NOT disassemble the main pack on the leaf spring or remove the bushing from the spring.

(1) Insert -- P/N 15247030 Verify that the rear leaf spring inserts (1) are present on the leading and trailing ends of the overload spring (second stage leaf). The insert may have broken apart from wear and fallen out. If the inserts are not present, install new ones.
Important: On some models, the vehicle may have to be raised to allow the springs to separate enough so the insert can be installed.

Some leaf springs, when removed causes a bounce in the rear end when you forget to put them all back. You should try adding some leaf springs recommended from the manufractuer, or just look for the same parts from another model just the same as your vehicle. (tip from experience: match the leafs, and where they go.) for example: the small one will go with the other small one. I used the 2nd largest leafs and added them to my rear end, so instead of just one leaf stock there was two. if this solves your problem let me know.
