Sceptre TV flickers, turns off and on then shuts off by itself, after unplug it works perfectly....

If it is fitted with a rewireable plug check the tension of the contact screws.
If the plug is non rewireable I would suggest there maybe a break in the wire somewhere

Our 55 Sceptre went completely black while watching it, we have sound but no picture it is 7 months old. What is next.

That could be a T-Con board failure. If you can change channels, turn up the volume etc, then it could be the T-Con.

Why does my tv shuts off soon after its turned on?

The Sceptre is a fine TV but is very sensitive to power surges.
If the unit turns off, soon after powering on, it is most likely the power supply.
Try disconnecting the power to the unit for 20 minutes and allow to completely cool down.

Re-connect the power and try the unit.

Hope it works for you

Power supply is the place to look, look for bulging on top of the capacitors in the secondary side of the main power supply.

Screen slightly flickers

Probably the inverter board of your monitor has been exhausted. The inverter is the part that enables the monitor to glow, making a little fluorescent gas lamp insithe the LCD bright strong enough to illuminate all the panel. When this circuit has some disfunction the lamp could oscilate, ficker and finally die making the panel dark and you couldn read what's on the screen.

The inverter has a lifetime, and the lamp too, check the lamp lifetime of your monitor and the inverter too.

But this could only be performed to a qualified person, due the high probability of electric shock if you try to make yoursel the repair.

Good luck

Flaw in display

I had the exact same issue. I bought a new tv for my family room and moved the Sceptre to a seldom used location. When I did turn the Sceptre on after a couple of months, it was good as new. The dark areas disappeared completely

Monitor turned black

Check some of the other posts as it is probably just a bad capacitor or two and very easy to fix if you can do that sort of thing. I did and mine is back up and running.
