Vertical red lines in dark areas

I would guess the dark areas are from bad lamp strips, the vertical lines could be a bad t-con board or a bad panel but the 2 most likely are not connected

Sounds like an LED strip is failing.

Dark picture. I adjusted brightness, but it keeps getting dark. It has vertical lines that can be seen in grey areas on the screen.

You have to clean the scanner.Open the dock feeder area,and make sure the scanner glass is clean sometimes the glass look clean but just a smaal dot on the glass can cause a line.Clean also the white area above the scanner.The white area above the scanner help for shading operation of the mchine.Make sure you clean with a sullotion that can remove ink but not damage plastic.

Possibly a form of flare caused by including the light source in the image.

does this happen when receiving faxes and photocopying?

First things First
1) If you can or have another monitor try and see if the problem persist.
2) RMS the monitor if you keep these problem in these particular monitor.
3) usually these, problems, its cause by a bad capacitor in the monitor motherboard, or resistor.
4) it is best to return the monitor.

what is the solution for this? my husband just turned his pc on when we got home and there are line blue lines running up n down in the black
