Well, the lock is not any good if you don't know the combination, but for a barrel-type combo lock, if you accidentally turned the numbers while open just push the male end in and turn the 1st ring until it goes in slightly. Then turn the next ring and so forth until it's all the way in. Now you can see the combination.
Never drill holes in a bike frame unless you have a death wish. "Rand 18-speed" doesn't tell us much. Most cheapo bike frames have a 'brake bridge' with a hole on the center for mounting accessories like fenders. Many racks can mount with a single rather than double front supports.. Lacking that, call a bike shop or web search for "bicycle seatstay rack clamps" to adapt the rack to attach to the seat stays.
We just got a sunlite lock and figured it out. After it is unlocked with 0000 and the lock opened, the end spins to a "set" position. Set the numbers you want, spin the end back, and lock will be set to those numbers.
