check the fan and see if it is busted or any of the cables

Please try the following:
1.remove the power cable an plug it again
2.check is the power it's on at the back of the source.
3.if you hear some noises write them down and search for the error codes on the net.

just remove the ATX cable from the motherboard (24 pins connector coming from the power supply),the power cable to the HDD and the and the dvd drive and then connect the power and chekc whether the light stays on or flicker ,if it flickers then the power supply is Bad if not then there is a probelm with the motherboard

Bad Power supply. Look on the side of your current power supply and find the wattage rating, and buy one of the same rating or higher. Some place like newegg.

Pull the power cord out and press the power button on the PC to drain the power for 10 seconds. Then plug the power cord back in and turn the computer on. If still does not work, then the power supply may be blown out and needs replacement.

Check all wires for loose connections--- if the memory was wrong or something, it would still attempt to boot but stop during the POST and start to beep

first remove battery and try to turn on with ac adapter pluged in.

then without power to the board, alternate sticks of ram to see if one is bad.

also you may want to remove the internal wireless card and see if it was causing a problem.

finally if you have access to a volt meter check the health of the ac adapter and the connection on the back of the laptop where the laptop makes contact with the battery to charge it. if it is not out putting power then you most likely have either a bad dc jack or a bad motherboard.
