SOURCE: intermittent problem no sound

Double and triple check your connections. I soldered my connections on a speaker a little while ago and I found out that it only looked soldered and it was alittle loose and would cut out. Also you could check a site out, installdr.com. You should be able to find out the wire colors for you speakers there. Although I don't think that, that will cause a big problem. If you are listening to music at loud volumes, I would also recomend an aftermarket amplifier. It adds so much more that a factory amp can. Just food for thought. Good luck.

I need to find out if my 97 ford expedition has a amp and a subwoofer factory and if so where is it located

Hello,

97 Ford Expedition's came with two types of systems. With and without the MACH audio system. This can be determined by looking to see if there is a factory sub located on the passanger side rear side panel in the cargo area. If there is a sub there its the MACH audio system and the amp is located behind the same panel.

I received a kenwood kdc-mp345u cd reciever can this be installed without a wire harness? I have 99 ford explorer with a mach factory system

Any time you upgrade your radio to an aftermarket you have to have the wire harness with it to connect to your dash.

If i hooked up all my aftermarket stereo wires to the maching wire. the stereo turns on but no sound comes out what should i do?

I would venture a guess with what little information you've provided (make, model, year...) that your vehicle had a factory installed amplifier. Take the blue wire from the new head unit and attach it to the power lead for the factory amplifier. Fords usually locate the factory amp under the passenger's seat. Chrysler infinity systems (Jeep) under the back seat etc... I hope I've helped. If so please rate my answer and leave a comment. If not, please re-post.

I've got a 1999 ford expedition with the Mach radio system in it and it does not have any bass playing thru the front or back speakers and i've changed out the factory amp thats in the back where the sub...

does the new amp you have have a hpf setting if so check to see if thats on, turn off the x-over so it will play both lpf and hpf, bass and treble. are all the speakers wired to the amp aswell, this is the only thing that would stop bass other than the head units settings.
