Trying to start and the starter whirs but the engine doesn't crank. At one point, i adjusted the seat and it did start up, but that trick never worked again.
Can a faulty seat sensor prevent the engine from even attempting to turn? I would have thought it would have cut the spark instead, but if so i can attempt to replace the seat sensor.
Low battery charge or the teeth on the starter gear is bad. the fly wheel should turn if the starter is engaging. i have disconnected the seat switch and it still turns over. the blade and parking brake switch will not let it do anything if disconnected. to change the starter gear only takes a few minutes after the covers are removed.
