If your Nokia 6300 phone displays an error message saying "Invalid Sim (or) Sim Registration failed" then your phone is probably network locked.
You can unlock it easily by using an unlock code. You can get this code at reasonable cost from TheUnlockArena.com with easy step by step unlocking instructions and unlock it.Then you can use freely any GSM network Sim card.
You could try cleaning the contacts on your sim card using an eraser and
see if that helps.. If it is still not working try using your sim in another phone, if your sim is working 100% in other phone then it is either the imei
of the phone is corrupted or the phone is block by the provider!!!
I belive you got a new sim card.sim card registrations fails comes only when the delear from whom you purchased might havent gave your proff to the service providers. so please contact the delear from whom you got the sim card.
Sounds like your provider has denied you access.
Could be a damaged sim card.
Either that or you've gotten it wet, dropped it too hard,or set up a password to keep anyone from using it. If it's none of the last ones then I would call your cell provider (AT&T,Telus,whoever...) and ask them about it. If you have a good provider they will walk you through a bunch of steps you could take.
Check that sim valid, Check with another sim card if problem not shows sim card may complaint do as follows Take the sim crd out and rub gently with a cotton cloth, and reinsert it. Or take to service provider & ask him to give duplicate sim. If problem with mobile try to dial *#7370#(Format), Or take mobile to Nokia care(Problem might be network ic).
There are 3 causes of Sim Card Registration Failed, when you first turn
on the phone, the sim card attempts to connect to the network if it can
not do this it gives a message like Sim Card Registration failed.
1,
The sim card is turned off, if you have had the sim card
for a while and it hasnt been used they will turn it off, you need to
contact them from another phone to get it turned on or get a new sim
card.
2, The phone has a hardware reception problem, when it
attempts to register itself with the network it can not... There is a
reception problem and it requires repairs, this isnt really an easy diy
job on this handset.
3, The phone is blocked, i.e reported lost
or stolen. Some networks when a phone is reported will allow it to get
reception but will not let it make calls, however other networks will
not give it reception at all and hence you get a Sim Card Registration
failed message.
I hope this helps, these are the causes of the message
The sim card holder is too loose on a lot of new Nokia phones. Place some folded paper (3,4,5,6 times) between the sim card and the sim card holder. It should fix it. I have an E65 and had this problems for two days after buying it. Since I fixed it 3 months ago, never had this problem again.
Hope it works for you too.
SIM Card Registration failed, means your SIM card serial number does not exist in your SIM provider's Server.
Generally when a SIM not used for a long period (About 6 months or any fix duration by SIM provider), the company remove that SIM card serial number from server.
In some cases if your SIM is new then it might not be activated by company, so you can ask regarding this the customer care of your SIM provoider.
