False alarm on the laser and stay on very long moment

Many vehicles have built in signals that radar detectors see as a laser radar. Basically there is no way around it. On my vehicles that emit this signal, I just disabled laser detection on the radar detector.

If your radar detector detects laser you are pretty much effed anyway. The time in capturing a speed reading is less than half a second with laser.

I have a Rocky Mountain KAT-TRAXX Radar.laser. g-force, it will not go go to Radar detector mode when I turn it on or when I try to select Radar mode. This option is gone

Lol fake so you are telling me that whenmine detects cops from miles away its lying even though I see them. Read the description *******! He had the Kat Traxx. That unit does not have a radar scrambler or claim it does. It has a laser scrambler which by the way are still active scramblers and laser scramblers are still legal. As for your problem, call Rocky mountain radar they are helpful and will talk to you to try and fix it if not you can send it in to them and they fix it for you.

My valentine one will not pick up speed camera vans now it was working on KA band then went to K band now will not pick up?

They are using instant-on radar that has a weak K-band signal that is used to turn on the radar when you are in range. The signal is so weak that you cant detect it until you are in range of the main radar set. This is also known as radar detector countermeasures. Laser is worse. I have beaten laser twice with my Valentine 1 in California where it requires 2 reads to nail you. Slam on the brakes when your detector alerts..

Cobra XRS 9440 will not detect police radar. Does not alert when I drive by a police car. How can I fix this problem? Is there a way to change the settings so that I can be alerted when there is police...

Radar detectors are not police detectors. Radar detectors only alert to police when the police have their radar guns turned on. Most police officers operate their radar guns in "instant-on" mode rather than leaving their radar guns turned on continuously. Instant-on operation involves very briefly turning the radar gun on for up to a second or two in order to get a vehicle's speed.

Cobra radar detectors are known to have great difficulty detecting the 35.5 Ka band radar gun frequency. This should be considered a serious problem since 35.5 Ka is the second most popular Ka radar gun frequency following the most commonly encountered 34.7 Ka radar gun frequency. There isn't much that Cobra can do about this issue since their competitors hold all of the really good patented solutions for detecting 35.5 Ka police radar while ignoring false alerts caused on this frequency due to other radar detectors.

Reading the radar detector

These are just the frequency ranges, or "bands" that your detector is detecting the frequencies...

X, K, Ka (Kappa-Alpha) are different bands of frequencies.

Questions

Ku is a band of radar used in some places by law enforcement. It is not used everywhere and can be a pain if it goes off for no reason. I recommend consulting your manual and turning the Ku band off if it is not used in the area in which you live. This will enable your detector to become more reliable for when you are being "zapped" by law enforcement

Pop is a way of using radar where the officer turns his radar on and off quickly. As a car approaches, they will turn the radar on long enough to get a speed reading, then immediately turn it back off to avoid detection by civilian radar devices. Some of the newer models of radar detectors have a feature which detects pop radar.

Every electronic device emits a frequency. Vg2 is what law enforcement use in states where radar detectors are illegal to identify whether a car is using a radar detector. The newer version of vg2 is called spectre and accomplishes the same thing. Some radar detectors can pick up on vg2 and spectre so the owner can turn the detector off before they are detected by law enforcement.
