Most likely the disc you are using is for computers. most home recorders require digital audio discs.

To Determine CD recording problem: Track1 records and plays back O.K. Upon completing track2, display window flashes continously "Now PMA" (Updating disc contents) NO playback or sound on track 2.

It is possible that until you finalize the disc, the only track that will play is the first one. Unfortunately, once you finalize the disc, you cannot record additional tracks to it. You can verify this by finalizing after recording the second track and seeing if they then both play. If that works, you can safely burn additional discs with confidence that they are burning correctly even if you cannot play each back after burning and must wait until finalization to test full burn.

How to burn a Cd

The Sony MHC-BX2 can record from a CD to a cassette tape. This model doesn't have a CD burner. The manual for the MHC-BX2 is available from Sony support: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=MHCBX2&template_id=1&region_id=1&tab=manuals#/manualsTab . See page 12 of the PDF.

If your unit is a different model, please post a comment with that model number. I wish that I had better news for you.

(on those shelf systems that can burn a CD, place a blank CD-R or CD-RW (if supported) in the disc tray. Use the function button to set the recording source (Phono with the Croseley units). Place the tape to record in the tape deck and press play reach a point a bit before the desired point to start the recording. (Some also will record from the radio, turntable, or other device. Again start the source playing.) Then press CD Record. Press Stop when you want the recording to stop or when one side of the tape/LP is finished. (Some have a Split Track button if you want to identify every track. Press this during the silent period between songs.) Otherwise, you will get one track per side with tapes/LPs.)

When u put a blank CD in it will say blank disc when you push REC. it will say Data disc and with a different CD it will say -79.59 e-mail me at [email protected]

I think your problem is that you are using a blank CDROM type disc in a CD Audio recorder. If you "burn" cds on a computer, it does not matter what type of cdr you use, but if it's for a stand alone CD Recorder (that you ise with hifi/dj stuff) you MUST use CDR AUDIO discs (sometinmes it will even say FOR MUSIC)

I have a Sony MZ-M200. I want to transfer live recordings that I have made of my concerts on MD to CD. I can load the recordings into the computer. How do I then burn them onto a blank CD?

You would have to use the Sony MiniDisc software to burn them as a standard CD. A better solution is to buy an actual stand-alone stereo "CD Recorder" and go from the MiniDisc player to the CD Recorder and it will record directly, including track marks if you make it a digital dub! Check into getting a Phillips audio CD recorder, and Sony still makes a stand alone CD recorder as well.
