I've had this unit for 5 years and now it's doing the same thing. Any solutions? I'm using Audio CDR's. I've had this unit for 5 years and now it's doing the same thing. Any solutions? I'm using Audio CDR's.

If the disk is finalized you can't normally write anything else.
The words "Finalizing" and "Closing"
are used interchangeably by most recording applications.
To "Finalize" or "Close" a disc
means that no additional data can be written to it.
This is done when the last session's
lead-in
is written. The option to close a disc is usually selected
after all of the data that will be written has been
placed in the project window, and the user knows that
no more data will be added to the disc in subsequent
recording sessions. The next writable address on the
disc is not recorded in that lead-in, so the CD recorder,
in subsequent attempts to write, has no way of knowing
where to begin writing.
I think your problem is that you are using a blank CDROM type disc in a CD Audio recorder. If you "burn" cds on a computer, it does not matter what type of cdr you use, but if it's for a stand alone CD Recorder (that you ise with hifi/dj stuff) you MUST use CDR AUDIO discs (sometinmes it will even say FOR MUSIC)
Or do you mean it won't accept a blank CD-R for recording?
You have to use blank CD-R Audio or CD-R Music CD's in a home CD recorder. It will not record on data disc media but it will play almost any CD with CD Audio music on it.
have you purchased the correct blank discs? sounds like you've inserted discs that can only be used on a PC. these players can only record onto blanks bearing the "compact disc digital audio" mark. these are for use on home audio recorders. hope this helps?
