Hi this could be one of a couple of problems , either the needle on the Gage has stuck to the empty side of the Gage try tapping it to see if it will dislodge itself, or the sender unit in the fuel tank is stuck at the bottom , you can however try to see if it will release itself by banging on the bottom of the fuel tank with your hand ( no hammers required), this should dislodge it from where it is, if this does not work, check the wires coming from the top of the tank to see if one of them has come off or is broken....hope this helps

There is plenty on the internet on recalls for deformed fuel tanks
from 04 thru 08

Should get a new sending unit free from the dealer on a federal
recall.

On an 03 ,if that is what you have, you will have to some testing
Maybe the sending unit just wore out

I know that there is a recall for the Armada concerning this issue. You may want to check with Nissan to see if there is a TSB-trouble service bulletin as well for the Pathfinder

Hi I have the same problems with the gas gaugedoes not function properly after I fill up full gas tank but it still show empty the yellow light is on.

Could be the float level in tank is disconected, or fuel gauge fuse is blown, or gauge itself is malfunctioned.

2005 Nissan Pathfinder Gas guage malfunction

I just fixed this problem last weekend in my 2005 Pathfinder. It's not the fuel sending unit itself, it's the fuel level sensor that is attached to the sending unit. I'm not a mechanic, but know a little about fixing vehicles and I did it myself in about 2 hours. The dealer may tell you they need to replace the whole fuel sender, but that is false. The sensor costs $80-90 from the dealer or from Courtesy Nissan in Texas. They will ship it to you. You don't need a "special nissan tool" to remove the sending unit, unless they call a hammer and screwdriver "special". It's a simple locking ring. You could probably have any shop do it for $100 labor if you supply the part. You can find instructions if you search Nissan forums. The Frontier has the same problem (since it's the same truck with a different body) so look in Frontier forums as well. Good luck!
