Hello, the auto on on my acoustic research pr1212 doesn't work anymore. The unit just stays on all the time. It used to sense the signal just fine, but now it just stays on and I have to manually turn it on and off. Can I fix this on the board somewhere?

No sound from sub, pilot light on, distortion only from volume control when rotated, fuse good. In the past, rotating or jiggling of volume control would correct problem

Are you certain it isn't sensing a signal all the time? Disconnect its inputs first to prove it.

If you feel compelled to monkey with it, I'd start with the state of the Auto switch. It might be asserting "ON" instead of "Auto"

Lets try this again. Computer just shut off near the end of my explanation. Once more, these computer operated engines in vehicles now are just plain finicky. No signal from a faulty sensor will not change the situation. When first start, the computer puts it in cold start mode, putting more fuel into the engine so it will start and keep running. If the faulty temperature sensor is not sending a warmed up signal to the computer, it stays in cold start mode, dumping excess fuel into the engine when warm and it won't run right. First thing I'd do is check and change the temperature sending unit. Ya gotta be smarter than the computer to figure these things out. Mainly just some common sense works too. I still haven't figured out why my computer shut down a few minutes ago. Like I'd pushed the off button. It's a computer, garbage in, garbage out.

My Acoustic Research HTB-80 Speaker Bar stopped working after a storm. No lights/power. Is there any fuses in the unit that I should check?

if your unit come with external Adaptor power up type. then mostly is the adaptor already blown, replace the adaptor will do.

Hi it is green then it turn red when i cut it off it go back to green , on the back all it has it off or auto/on what to do?

Something is causing it to go into protect mode. Auto on is best because it turns on when an audio signal is recieved. A sutten surge of sound can often cause it to protect itself. If this does not solve the problem, then you might have a bad amplifier in he unit. You can often replace that amp, but sometimes its just best to replace the whole unit. If the subwoffer is bad, it can also cause the unit to go into protect.

I have a set of Wireless Acoustic Research speakers. I recently came home from college and the transmitter (connected to the television) does not work. I've tried everything from trying a different outlet...

Try using a different source than your television. If it works, then there's an issue with the output of the TV. However, if you use the same cables as you were using with the TV, they may be bad. Try using another device with a different set of cables to plug into the transmitter, which should help identify where your problem really is. Please rate my answer, thanks.

Can Acoustic Research wirless speakers be used for surround?

yeah, I looked it up on thier website. Here is what they say.

Warning: This product is designed to work with line level outputs or headphone outputs only.

DO NOT connect it directly to speaker outputs as it will permanently damage the transmitter.

You can use these as surround speakers if you like. You just need a line level surround output on the receiver. Most high end receivers have this feature but, you may only have speaker level outputs.

If that is your case the only option you have is to use a "speaker to line level adapter".... http://www.crutchfield.com/p_543ADP12/Russound-ADP-1-2-Speaker-level-to-Line-level-Adapter.html?tp=9070

Now crutchfield.com is always a little high on prices but if you look around I have seen them around $10 online.

Good luck with your project.

Wireless speaker won't come on after plugging in now....

Try the adaptor that you know works in the speaker that doesn't. That will eliminate if its the adaptor or the speaker. You will need a multimeter to check if its the on /off switch or not. A quick alternative is to "bridge" out the on / off switch wiring. (Use a piece of wire to join the wires going through the switch together.)
