Dryer drum will not turn. When I went to switch my laundry I turn the new laundry on . then the machine stopped and the drum will not turn. i have power in the dryer. I also unplugged the machine and waited a couple of minute to retry.

The fact that the light bulb is out *and* the drum continues to spin when the door is opened - all point to a faulty door switch.

This switch tells the machine the "status" of the door position. When the door is open, it turns on the light *and* stops / prevents the drum from starting. When closed, the light is shut off *and* the drum is permitted to spin. You should have the switch serviced as if a wire came loose it adds a potential shock hazard - in addition to the safety issue of placing hands into a spinning drum.

You have a faulty door switch. Here is the replacement switch.

I'm pretty sure that is normal.

Check ylur belt around the drum. Also the idler pully that keeps the belt tight. Hope this helps.

It sounds like the drum bearing is bad. It can prevent the drum from turning and overheat the motor and cause it to shut off.
Another possibility is that the belt has broken and the motor is just spininig. Some dryers have a safety that prevents the dryer from staying on it the drum is not turning.

Sounds like a weak motor. You'll have to get a new motor installed. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to install yourself on that type of machine if you are handy. Motor is located in the bottom right of the machine, attached to the drum belt through a small pulley underneath the drum next to the motor.

Did you ground the wire to the unit ?
