My miele dishwasher 'incognito' is not working. When i turn it on, it runs for like 10 seconds then shuts off and the intake drain light flashes.. help!

Faulty WPS - water intake valve need to be changed

The part number given is not a Miele part number - most likely that is the issue

All the lights on my incognito started to flash. This was after the drain/intake light started to flash also. I called Miele and they helped me to reset the lights flashing. They said that when all lights are flashing that this indicates an overheat condition. They asked if my filters were clean and I thought they were. However, my wife had started to use liquid dish washing detergent and the liquid detergent had plugged up the filter screen at the bottom of the dishwasher. I cleaned it good with a scrub brushing and boiling water. This fixed the problem. Bottom line, don't use liquid dish washing detergent in a Miele, only powder.

The Intake light is also the Drain error light. If the light is flashing, then turn off the dishwasher and clean the triple filter, the drain pump and the non return valve and make sure that there are no kinks in the drain hose.

Make sure the water is ccoming in at a pressure above 4.5 psi. Also make sure that the water valve is open and clean the water intake filter.

The final possibility is that the Waterproof system has tripped and you need a Miele technician to service the unit.

i also found my miele wouldn't drain after replacing a garbage disposal. it turned out I forgot to knock out the plug on the disposal where the diswasher discharges....Doh !....

Does it fault out in the beginning, middle or end?

A flashing "Intake/Drain," means something is wrong. It doesn't necessarly mean, "no water coming in," or "poor drainage." But of course, we should check those things first. What are the symptons? What part of the program does the "Intake/Drain" flash?

My Miele Incognito dishwasher kept getting an error with intake/drain light. The light flashed 5 times. Phoned Miele Technical Support to investigate the problem. The problem is that a seal in the bottom of the dishwasher has failed and there was water in the motor pan. Currently, $175 service charge for the technician to come look at it.

I don't want to spend $175+ to have them replace a 75 cent rubber gasket that I could replace on my own.
