Sounds like you have a short somewhere: either inside your laptop or possibly the power adapter itself. The cheapest and easiest way to figure out which is causing the problem would be to take your laptop to a local computer shop and ask them if they have an adapter that's compatible with your laptop, then try the adapter with the battery in & out of your laptop. If it doesn't shut down, then I would say that your power adapter is shorting out and causing the problems. If it still has problems when using a different power adapter then I would say that there's something going on inside your laptop that is causing the problem. Many times it's because the female power jack on the motherboard needs to be replaced. There are several other things that would cause this to happen too, but what I've told you so far is the usual problem and solution - in my experience.
