Sounds like you have a short somewhere: either inside your laptop or possibly the power adapter itself. The cheapest and easiest way to figure out which is causing the problem would be to take your laptop to a local computer shop and ask them if they have an adapter that's compatible with your laptop, then try the adapter with the battery in & out of your laptop. If it doesn't shut down, then I would say that your power adapter is shorting out and causing the problems. If it still has problems when using a different power adapter then I would say that there's something going on inside your laptop that is causing the problem. Many times it's because the female power jack on the motherboard needs to be replaced. There are several other things that would cause this to happen too, but what I've told you so far is the usual problem and solution - in my experience.

How to remove CMOS batery from a toshiba a200. A link to a picture if posible. Thanks in advance

http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/toshiba-satellite-a205/laptop-disassembly-1.htm

Magnify the picture given at Step 17 in the above link (attached below for your convenience) and you will see the CMOS battery around 4O'clock position from the CPU frame. I think the battery is soldered to the motherboard. However, I would like some expert to confirm all this info._1319.jpg

Toshiba satellite A200 - press power to turn on the machine and get blank screen and 3 beeps then nothing. Computer was left in sleep state for approximately 2 hours and now refuses to wake or reboot...

HI
Try to unplug the power supply and take the battery out. so it means there is no power going to the laptop. now press and hold the power button down for approximately 1 minute.
After that put the battery in and plug the adapter back.
Try to turn the laptop on most probably it will come on
If it still does the same thing contact ur laptop manufacturer

Toshiba Satellite Goes completley off! Black screen, NO POWER!

This problem is likely caused by overheating. The CPU reaches a temp to high and shuts the system down. When you try to turn it on the system is still to hot and it will not let the computer power on. You can try blowing out the fans and heat sink with an air compressor or can of compressed air. If this does not help the problem you may need to have thermal compound reapplied. If that does not fix it it will need a new heatsink/fan/
